OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies!!

Ill be getting married at now jade on may 16th 2014. anyone else there that same weekend??? Im also going to do a site visit this may. Soo excited to get away ! ill be there may 8th-12th...so i was just wondering does anyone have any idea how much the actual destination wedding at now jade should run? the packages arent expensive but im sure with all the add-ons it will get quite pricey! Im definitely trying to stay within a budget and i saw some brides say in their review that they were shocked when they saw the final quote. Im just getting nervous about all this!

We'll be sending out about 100 save the dates but im expecting around 40 (hopefully). We went with the diving package but i will def be bringing a few things with me like OOT bags, chair bows, and table runners. As far as decor i was planning on just going with the resorts stuff for flowers and centerpeices but its just soo expensive since they only include the brides bouquet and one centerpeice! Id also need to pay extra for a dj for the reception. I also went and hired an outside photographer so im hoping that since i wont be needing the photographer from the package maybe i can subsitute that for something else.. If anyone has any idea on how much now jade weddings actually end up costing roughly, thatll be great!! thanks!

I don't know if this is too personal, but I was wondering if some past NJ brides would be interested in sharing their TOTAL wedding cost (including everything: hotel costs, airfare, wedding dress, alterations, clothing, jewelry, gift bags, decor, etc.). My FI and I have set a budget for the entire wedding all the way down to the kennel for our dog for a week, and I am just wondering if the amount we came up with is reasonable. Everyone on here talks about how things keep adding up and it makes me a bit nervous. We are anticipating 50-60 guests. If you don't feel comfortable posting it but could send me a personal message that would be fine too. Thanks for any help/reassurance.

Woooohoooo, the NJ is going to be full of brides that weekend!!!  We are doing a 4pm ceremony @ the pergola, cocktail 5-6 at the mix bar, and then reception 6-10 at either the bamboo room or castaways....This may all change depending on how many guests end up booking (we invited 136!)....thinking of just going to the disco afterward.  How about you?

Our wedding isn't until June, but I've made a very detailed budget spreadsheet. We are expecting 65 guest and right now, this is just my estimate, including tax.... For the Divine Package, with all the add-ons, such as centerpieces through the resort, a DJ, extra food for reception, an hour extension for reception, extra photography time, I am estimating $9,500. Again, this is only my estimate. It def could be more or less once we actually get to the resort & talk to Pilar. Who knows what it will really be! It's more than we expected but still cheaper than a wedding at home...destination weddings aren't as cheap as people think! All the extra prices for everything are ridiculous! But I've come to terms with it, & I'm tired of complaining about it! Lol, I guess it is what it is :-) I'll be happy to share what our actually price is when we return... Oh, and the price above does not include our travel for a week. Travel was about $1,400 per person.

Thanks so much shannonmarie :) It would be great if you could share the final prices after your wedding. Yeah, it definitely isn't as inexpensive as we initially thought it was going to be, but so much better than having a wedding here. I feel a bit relieved from what you wrote, that falls in line with what we were thinking. I was starting to get nervous that I was underestimating the additional costs, whew! :)

HEY NJ Brides!!!!! I'm just wondering if any past brides could let us know how the ceremony went. Did you do your own vows? Or are there Generic vows to say? What sayings do u pick? I know there is a few brides that are interested in this?? I'm kinda stressing about it.

THANKS!!!!

Yes! It will an amazing week!! Wow that is a big list of guests!!! We are having a 3pm beach ceremony skipping the cocktail hour and 7-10pm reception at Castaway. We looked into getting more time for our reception but they will only go until 11pm latest and it is an additional $15 per person.. So disco it is! Fingers crossed it is a happening disco and the music is good! I understand it is a sports bar during the day and then turns into a disco at night from what I gathered.. I don't know if this is on specific nights only or what time it is open until. Do you? Are you bringing your own music? Or getting a DJ?

KJRAZZLE

i was in the same boat as you! I think my post was right before yours on here about the price lol I also have set a budget of 10-12k max. We already hired an outside photographer so im hoping that we will still be ok with everything. Its all the add-ons that hike the final cost up so much! The actual packages arent bad is flowers, centerpeices, dj that add up. Does anyone on here know about the dj situation? Like since i wont be needing the photographer from the package can i have dj time insteaD?

omg I cant wait to hear the details when you get back. I'm still in the process of attempting to book my wedding date... Pilar is just so S L O W with responding I've been emailing with her since late February. I attempted to book April 12 and she got back to me 2 weeks later telling me the locations i was requesting were booked and so I emailed her right away for availability for other dates and she has yet to respond and its not about to be a week... I dont know if I'm just getting too anxious but I'm beginning to think maybe I should look into another resort...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
