OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Does anyone have pictures of their reception on the Carnival Terrace? I would like to do one long table for "family style" dining however I'm afraid there won't be room for a little dancing.

I saw one picture from a past bride but I'm hoping there are more :)

Is anyone having a welcome party? We were thinking of doing the buffet for dinner then would like to have a little reserved space in the loby or somewhere that we could have everyone chat and do a candy bar.

I've made the assumption that tropical view room equals first floor. Can anyone confirm or deny that?

I've been to a few other AMResorts and have been in a tropical view room on the second floor. I think it simply means your patio/balcony faces woods/landscape. Hope that helps...

It can be any floor, it basically just means your room overlooks the pool/garden (more towards the inside of the resort) instead of being ocean front or ocean view (which is more towards the front).

We're having a little cocktail party in the lobby, Pilar said that it's no additional cost for them to set aside a space for you in the lobby!

Hi ladies! I have been reading this blog for a few weeks but havent introduced myself! Our wedding is July 18th, we are doing a beach ceremony and our reception is in the bamboo room. I'm so excited but nervous at the same time because I feel like I have NO CLUE what i'm doing! lol.

I do have a few questions though.

We are going with the Divine package and recently figured out that we are having more people then we expected. The food is going to be so expensive! I saw there was an option for a buffet, is that still true? and if so, how much would it cost? We are just looking for cheaper options.

Also, what all decorations wise are yall bringing for the inside receptions?

I am not sure if you got an answer for this or not yet, I am doing the buffet for my guests as i'm looking at a huge group and it also gives people the option to eat as little or as much as they want. I have received my rough estimate from Ariadna and the buffet is 53$ per person. ( don't know if that is American or Canadian) I probably should have asked that haha.... Kids are 20$ each.

Also i read somewhere that a couple went to pay using travellers checks and Now Jade didn't accept them... can anyone verify this?

Hi, I had an email from Ariada about payment

"I want to inform you that the total of the wedding balance must be paid at the hotel at least one day before your wedding day (we accept cash and credit cards as Visa, American Express and Mastercard). **Note:Traveler cheques are not accepted at the hotel** The fees for legal ceremonies must be paid in cash"

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
