Question for symbolic ceremonies  - when coming back to get married in NY do we need anything signed down there? or just go to the city clerk and get liscense and get married.

Nope, you won't need anything. Since the wedding in Mexico will be symbolic, it is just that and holds no merit once you get home..just married in your hearts!!

Does anyone know how much it costs to take a taxi from the Now Jade resort into Cancun?  My fiancé and I want to make a Costco run in Cancun and don't want to get hosed by a taxi trying to charge us an unreasonable price.

Hi ladies! I have been reading this blog for a few weeks but havent introduced myself! Our wedding is July 18th, we are doing a beach ceremony and our reception is in the bamboo room. I'm so excited but nervous at the same time because I feel like I have NO CLUE what i'm doing! lol.

I do have a few questions though.

We are going with the Divine package and recently figured out that we are having more people then we expected. The food is going to be so expensive! I saw there was an option for a buffet, is that still true? and if so, how much would it cost? We are just looking for cheaper options.

Also, what all decorations wise are yall bringing for the inside receptions?

Would any past/near future brides be willing to share their completed planning form with me? I'm not sure the kinds of answers some of the questions are looking for...and also I think a part of me just wants proof that it CAN be done and mine will be finished eventually ;)

For a buffet you have to have more than 50 people I think. I'm not sure on pricing for this, we were under 25 people.

I took vases in varying heights, water beads, led lights, paper lanterns and lights for them. my reception was outside. I also took chair sashes, table runners, and napkins.

Rachel I will send you mine, have I emailed you something before? I think I might have you email address already...what is it?

Do you have pictures from your reception? I would love to see your set up.

I do not have any pictures of the whole set up. It was dark when we got there. These are the best I have.

Your vases look AMAZING with the water beads and lights! Was it hard to transport the vases down there? I'm scared to take anything breakable.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
