OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Hello Brides,

I am new to this whole wedding planning thing. I am trying to decide of course first on a venue, I am between El dorado royale, now jade and now sapphire. I am trying to to get a picture of cost. Mostly because I want to know if this is even something I can actually afford. If anybody would be comfortable sharing their budget or overall end cost for the wedding was. I would very much appreciate it. I'm looking at OVERALL, like everything from invites to venue and decor. Or a breakdown. Any info would be helpful. You can email me at desiree.m.gomez@@gmail.com. Thanks!

Past brides,

Is there an on site jet ski rental booth? If not, any recommendations for companies?

Yes! ! $69 per person. Parasailing is $69. Also, in Building 4 (where the wedding dept/ spa is) there's a company called Olympus Tours. All the excursions in Mexico are there! They have everything from catamarans, ziplining, ruin tours, etc. Good luck!

Does anyone have any idea how much music is needed for the ceremony?

How long should the playtime be for the pre-ceremony, the procession and the registry signing?

I had 5 songs total.

Three Little Birds- Bob Marley

I'm Yours- Jason MRAZ

Somewhere Over the Rainbow [bridesmaids]

Here Comes The Sun instrumental [bridal entrance]

Better Together- Jack Johnson [walk as husband/wife]

My husband said that they used their own music before everyone sat, then put on our playlist. They changed the songs as everyone walked down. Was perfect. Not sure if it's always like that because we had a small group and it was just easy, but that's how ours was!

This website has been paramount to my planning. As we finalize our contract and get closer and closer I just keep reflecting on the past year. I seriously cannot imagine having it done all without this forum! We're down to 42 days now and most the work is done. Time to get excited!

Sooo, how long would you say it took you to walk down the isle? I found a song I really like but it's only 1:34 long... I feel like I'll be cutting it close.

Ahh! We are officially 25 days away. I feel ready but I'm sure I'm forgetting something!!

I have packed up all my decorations and welcome bags. Final dress fitting today.

Sent in all my paperwork, budget worksheet, guest list, seating chart, and guitar playlist.

I sent the weekly itinerary to my bridal party and parents yesterday.

What else needs done?! I wish I had a packing list so I didn't forget anything. I still need to figure out how much I am tipping and who.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
