OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Well, Ariadna has already emailed me back! I am having round tables and they will be set up in a semi circle around the dance floor in front of the head table. Just in case anyone else was curious!

Also, for anyone wondering, I hadn't emailed my coordinator at all until the past week and she is absolutely fantastic about getting back to me! It is usually in less than 24 hours and as quick as 3 hours! I'm pretty impressed so far!

I am not sure about how they are setup in the bamboo room either. I sent in my final planning paperwork to Pilar last Tuesday and have not heard back yet.

I requested to have rectangle tables setup in a big square so everyone is facing each other. We have 30 people and are not having a dance floor so I thought this would be fun. We have 80 people joining us but only have immediate family and friends going to the reception dinner... instead of paying the $80/per person for the reception dinner we are paying for a 5 hour party boat instead for everyone.

Who did you book the party boat with? We were thinking of setting something like that up for the day after the wedding.

We booked the party boat with www.cancun-discounts.com We preferred something in Riviera Maya but the boats there only fit 40 people (these can be booked through the resort). We have 80 so we needed something larger. It ended up being very reasonable at around $55/pp. This includes transportation to and from Cancun, open bar (beer/liquor), snacks, music, snorkeling, and parasailing while on the boat.

55 days!! So excited! So much to do! Set in my final planning paperwork last week to Pilar... no response yet!!!!

I've already started re-thinking some choices. Is this normal?

Started to finalize a timeline for the day yesterday.

First dress fitting today!

We booked through Apple and had enough people book to get one of our stays free. They told me we still have to pay it in full then they will credit us later. Is that the norm?

Does anyone know if you use the guitarist during the ceremony, does he pick the music? Does he plan before and during? All songs... like prelude, processional, interlude, etc...?

@@Meg32IL I have an email into pilar asking about the guitarist because I was wondering the same thing. I know some of the brides in the past have said there is a song list to choose from.

We have 70 days! I just picked up dress yesterday and my Fiancés suit should arrive today so we can start alterations!

I think it is normal to rethink everything. I am 30 days today ( the heaviness of that just hit me) wow! I have been second guessing every decision I have made. This morning I was even rethinking the colors Seriously! I think it is just nerves and for me I have never been to the resort!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
