OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

They don't actually block rooms for you... All my guests were scattered between building 1 through 4.

@@MayFlowers2014 I'm so sorry to hear of your issues and disappoint both for you and for me since I just booked for 2015 and now jade. I'm just curious, did you do a room block for your guests through a TA?

How does the dinner menu work for the divine package ...do you choose a set menu for everyone?

You pick 1 salad, 1 soup, 2 main course and 1 dessert

You will need to know how many of each main course and advise your coordinator

I wrote a full review but in case you all do not check the resort reviews, I'm happy to provide any insight on wedding planning. I actually felt bad giving the resort such a low review (especially compared to previous brides who raved about it)--like I was high maintenance brat or something, but I had a very identical experience to MayFlowers2014 (I got married May 8, 2014--so we were probably there at the same time). My issue was not so much with the "hiccups" that occur, but with how the management handles it. The service was genuinely horrible. Also, in my review I stated that no one got sick--apparently my guests were just being nice because they could see how stressed out I was about all of the other things going wrong. About half of my 54 person group got sick (a lot of them when they would not come out at night told me they were tired and those who missed daytime activities told me they had too much sun...in fact, they were all sick to their stomachs and unable to be more than 10 feet from a bathroom but didn't want me to know)...six of my people had to get antibiotics upon returning to the US. I had the same issue with overbooking and the NOW Jade asking guests to go to the NOW Sapphire, as well as having the bride and groom be moved several times, despite paying for an oceanfront (and receiving double beds). About 20 of my guests did not get what they paid for (including the bride and groom), and management made it clear that you pay for "room requests" not "reservations"...basically they don't guarantee anything so they don't have to comp you a dime.

Wow, so sorry to hear this. This scares me!  Im going next week to visit some of the hotels, including Now Jade and Now Sapphire. I was initially inclined to the Sapphire, but i'm more in the modern side plus someone told me that the Jade beach is much private than Sapphire's for weddings.

I have a question, did you use a travel agency to block the rooms or you did it directly with the hotel?

I hit the 200 day work and wanted to find out who else will be at Now Jade when I will be? My wedding is set for November 6th!! I will be there November 4th-11th!

How did people handle RSVPs for their destination wedding? When did you send out invites? We are having a home reception too and inviting all our guests to both. Destination Wedding - Nov 6th (need final guest count by Sept 10). Home Reception - Jan 24 (need final guest count by Jan 5). I only one to do one invite for both but 2 separate RSVPs (one by email one by mail). When should I send out my invites??

Hi!! We are Nov 6th as well!!! We will be arriving Nov 3rd, leaving Now Jade on the 9th for a different resort (tbd:) We were at the Now Jade in Feb 2013 for my friend's wedding and we had such a good time that we decided to do the same!! We are having our ceremony & cocktail hour on the beach, then reception at Castaways. As of right now we have 20 ppl booked but I'm expecting more...30-40 total probably. We are having a home reception as well, on Nov 29th. I've been wondering the same as far as when to send out invites. FI thinks we should send out in July.

We're from WI by the way...see you're in IL, not far! Happy to "meet" you on here!!

Does anyone have a Now Jade resort map and/or a welcome brochure that they are willing to share? I'm getting married there November 25th/2014 and I'm so lost as to what to write for these, but I'd really like to include them in my welcome bag.

Also, where is the Bamboo room located? I have found maps online but don't know where the bamboo room is (I'd like to mark the locations of my ceremony (pergola), cocktail hour (Mix bar) and reception (Bamboo room) on the map).

Finally, If anyone is getting married around this time and wants to cut costs by sharing decorations let me know!!!!! (Lol.... can't blame me for trying... I think my colours will be Yellow and Grey...).

Thanks everyone, this post has been a HUGE help and is what made me choose NOW Jade!!!

Hi NOW Jade brides! I am attempting to finalize all the details my July 2014 wedding (divine package). I have heard of brides of brides swapping things out. For instance, photography for additional flowers, etc.. Pilar is stating that exchanging things is NOT doable. Anyone else run into this?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
