Hi ladies,

Hope everyone is doing well with their planning.

Does anyone know how many hors d'oeuvres choices you get for the Divine cocktail hour? I am assuming we have to pick from the list, or do we actually get all of them?

Thanks so much!

Has anyone run into the issue with the 20 room maximum on the room block?  My TA is saying that if we want to block more than 20 rooms it changes the "package" and the amenities actually go down, to 1 free room for every 15.  That seems counter intuitive to me - i'm bringing them more people.  oh well.  anyways, i was curious if anyone else ran into this and if you just went with it or tried to do something else.  I was wondering if we could do 2 separate room blocks?  The problem is i'm not really sure how many people are going to come!  argh!  I think we'll get 20 with family and close friends.  I don't know if i should just book 20 and hope that anyone over that that is coming is able to get a room, or go with 30 with less amenities...

And just to add - we got our date confirmed!!!  I'm so excited!  April 17, 2015.  It has been a stressful past few weeks trying to pick a place and I'm so glad to have it done!  now i can actually focus on my job so i can keep earning money to pay for this wedding!

From what I remember it was 4. You have a choice of any combination of cold and hot, but 4 total.

I just want to double check with the divine reception dinner. Am I only allowed to pick one option for everyone (beef or fish)? Some guests don't like either so Im wondering if the resort is accommodating to them or is there a limit/extra charge?

Also, are biodegradable sky lanterns allowed at the resort?

Thanks ladies! :)

Hi Ladies...

Were back after being in Mexico for 2 weeks.

The wedding went pretty good. A few hiccups but that's about it. As everyone said it was great however i did notice a few things that were wonky... e.g. I had 8 chair decorations but only 7 were in place. blah

However the resort and it's service was horrible. When we arrived they wanted to ship half of my group to the now sapphire resort--- Not cool. I had to stomp my feet and complain a lot. They upgraded our room to the privilege side and gave us (Bride and Groom) to double beds. Not happy about that. We ended up switching room to a king bed on the first floor with no ocean view except for a bunch of bushes. When asked to be switched back they couldn't accommodate us. :(

Ladies just so you know... the privilege side is not worth it. All you get is a lounge with internet access and you are far away from the rest of your family and friends. Internet on the resort in general ain't great. $78 bucks for the week for crappy internet.

Half of our group got sick at the resort and my aunt had to get a doctor.   :( She's good now but how horrible is that.

Two couples in my group had to share a room because the resort overbooked.

Be aware that they try to keep your decorations.... Make a list.

Needless to say i'm not a happy camper and i'm very easy to please.

Would i go back prob not.

I can't believe I am reading more and more of them overbooking. I am going next month with 52 guests and am so nervous people aren't going to get what they paid for.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
