OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

February 2015 bride here!  Did you girls bring a lot of your supplies like sky lanterns, table linens, napkins, centerpieces or use the resorts?   Did you have assigned seating arrangements?

We are 5 months away.... Yikes where is the time going. I am taking.

1. oTT Bags with stuff.

2. Programs and fans for the ceremony.

3. Napkins (printed) straws, and signature drink signs.

4. Napkins, Table Runners, Centerpieces, Seating Tags, guest book table things, and lanterns, ohhh and candles

Most of this stuff is paper goods so it can squish down small. I want to keep it all between 2 rubbermaid roughtotes.

We are having about 50 people and it is so much cheaper for me to bring everything. I will recycle or toss most everything after so it will not be coming with me.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Lori and I'm getting married at the Now Jade on May 8, 2014 (Eek! So soon!!). I read this forum often, but I'm such a procrastinator that it started giving me heart palpitations because brides getting married a year after me were so much further in their planning that I was haha. I am now all caught up and was hoping to hear from some of the brides who will be there from May 3rd-10th. I have a group of 53 people joining me. The majority of the group is in their 30s. My biggest concern about the Now Jade from the inception of booking was the lack of liveliness during the day (that was not catered towards families and children) as well as the lack of nightlife. My group is no by means looking for a Spring Break in Cancun atmosphere, but can certainly be a fun and boisterous crowd. I'm sure between 50 of us, we'll be able to create our own fun, but would love to hear from previous brides regarding the atmosphere at the main pool during the day and the sports bar/disco at night or brides or brides who will be down there with me with a similar concern. I would just hate for my guests to pay all of this money to be kind of bored (but nonetheless bored in paradise!). While the TripAdvisor reviews all speak to the activities at the main pool, none really talk about music playing or fun at the pool bar or the dancing at night or anything.

I hit the 200 day work and wanted to find out who else will be at Now Jade when I will be? My wedding is set for November 6th!! I will be there November 4th-11th!

How did people handle RSVPs for their destination wedding? When did you send out invites? We are having a home reception too and inviting all our guests to both. Destination Wedding - Nov 6th (need final guest count by Sept 10). Home Reception - Jan 24 (need final guest count by Jan 5). I only one to do one invite for both but 2 separate RSVPs (one by email one by mail). When should I send out my invites??

 Hey Meg,

I am not having an at home reception so im not sure how to handle those rsvps but for the destination wedding I sent out my invited in mid jan,  asked for an RSVP by march 1. and my wedding is may 16th.  I sent out save the dates a year before my wedding so people pretty much already knew if they were going i think. If not i gave them another month and a half to figure it out. lol Although, i did have a lot of people i had to hunt down since they forgot about the rsvp date!

I'm getting married at Now Jade 4/18/15!  Did the wedding planners work with you on crediting items included in the package that you didn't need?  Does anyone have pros and cons of the ceremony, cocktail hour site, and reception site?  What do you think the best rehearsal dinner option is?  We are having about 70 guests.  Thank you!!

From Michigan here. We are getting married the 6th and we'll be there the 3rd to the 10th. I'm sure we'll all cross paths at some point. There will be lots of people there wanting to have fun. We have 27 of us, though most are family in their 40s and 50s we've still got a group of about 8 of us that are younger (late 20s and early 30s)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
