Can anyone recommend a travel agent that has worked with Now Resorts in the past? I was thinking about getting a few quotes here shortly. Thanks! :D

Hi all! I'm getting married at Jade on July 10th! I am SO behind on planning and trying not to stress! Is there anyone else who will be there around that time??

We are getting married July 11th. I honestly haven't done much planning either! We have our photographer booked and about to book DJ. Other than that we are still waiting for 90% of our RSVPs to come back. We have a return date of April 30th. I probably won't plan anything until mid April. I have emailed with Isela and Pilar and there really isn't much to do. Although, we are most likely going to use the resort for table settings etc...

I attended the webinar also! What Isela meant is that bonfires are NOT allowed at the resort.. Obviously the presentation was old and should've been updated prior to the webinar..But the resorts used to allow bonfires/firepits. The Jade is on a Nature Preserve, they have turtles, and rare birds, etc on the resort so anything that could harm them is prohibited. Also it's their mating season I believe between May and October.. It's confusing, yes. I only know this because I've stayed at the Jade before. Other than the miscommunication about the bonfires, did you find the webinar helpful? I'm glad I was able to attend, I made a whole new list of questions I have to send Isela! Btw, I'm so thankful she's SO organized.. And I'm glad we decided against the Saphire, I sensed that Ramon was all over the place the other day! It was horrible!

The Fire dancers usually perform once a week there, you could ask Isela for an itinerary of daily activities... But I wouldn't recommend adding the firedancers. They're a nice touch but after 15 minutes, it's kind of played out. And I think id rather spend the money on something else, especially if it's not private..

I thought the webinar was pretty good. I wanted to hire the fire dancers as a way to end our reception and i thought it was pretty cool. i saw them at someones wedding when i visited jade last may but i dont want to pay for them if my guests might already see them one evening .. Does anyone know of some other type of fun way we could end the night? With some sort of performance? I know they offer cigar rolling and such but that is more for cocktail hour i think. I want something as a surprise to end the night! Also, What type of other questions do you have for isela?

How many days prior to your wedding did you arrive?

We are having a symbolic wedding so we shouldn't have to be there 3-4 days before the wedding right?  I was thinking we could arrive one day before our guest...two max.

I am getting married offsite but staying at the Now Jade. I really wanted to have the fire dancers at my wedding, but they are pretty much banned at the beach clubs--so I've had to come up with other options. If you feel like spending the money, you can opt for a Brazilian batucada (which is supposed to be really cool!) or water drums.  If the NJ doesn't offer the services, you might have to pay an outside vendor fee, but both of those options are pretty fun, IMHO!

From my understanding, there is not a requirement on how many days you need to be there before a symbolic ceremony. We were there two days prior which I though was just right. It gave us time to meet with the WC and also have my hair and makeup trial.

Thanks!

Now if only the wedding coordinator would respond to confirm she received our deposit I would be ready to continue planning. It's been a week and still no charge on our account.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
