OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Aaaah!! We are all starting to get stressed! May weddings are coming up FAST! We sent our paperwork to the coordinator last week, and now I am wondering if we took the right decisions, if we chose the appropriate hors d'oeuvres and meals etc etc. Too late, the form is sent! :P  We need to work on our playlist, as we did not hire a DJ...

We didn't send our paperwork yet. I have it pretty much filled out, though. I should have it in to them within the next week. We did hire the DJ but as of now we still haven't figured out our mother/son and father/daughter dances.... ugh too many decisions to make!

Have you thought about joining the mother/son and father/daughter dance?  Saves time and only one song to pick!  We did this and I am glad we did.

What do you mean by joining the dances? you used the same song for your first dance, dance with your father, and your husband and his mother?

I mean that instead of doing a mother/son AND father/daughter dance separately, we both danced at the same time (only one song).  My husband and I also had our first dance.  Then we had a joined mother/son and father/daughter dance.  It saved us a few minutes minutes.  After dinner and speeches are done you really only have an hour or so left for dancing.

So we have 43 people confirmed so far! Its more then we expected, but are happy so many people want to come all the way to mexico for us! lol We're exactly 2 months until we board that plane and head to now jade! Very exciting and nervous! Just trying to get the small little things together.. I actually didnt even start the forms for dj or the resort that i need to send them so i will do that this weekend.. I have the terrace booked for now but with 43 people im not positive how this is going to work. I really dont want to be super tight with no room for dancing! Does anyone have pics of different ways the terrace is set up as far as tables? I requested this from Isela but still havent received and email back.

What is everyone else up to as of now?

We are up to 46 booked, at least 22 more booking for sure!!! I don't know what we are going to do about the dinner. The costs sky rocket after 25!!!

We are considering doing family/bridal party only dinner then pay for everyone to go on a private catamaran tour. I'm sure our guests would rather have an excursion paid for them than a dinner.

My travel agent mentioned working in each person's dinner price into their cost for the trip, so essentially people are paying for their own dinner ticket (but don't really know it...) I guess from her perspective 75 per person isn't a huge burden on them but having dozens of extra people on you would be. I haven't gotten to this stage yet, we just officially booked our date at the Jade, but it's something to think about!

I have not heard about getting any freebies for dinner but if anyone knows of this please share. We have over 80 guests at approx. $75 extra per guest. It is crazy!

Hi ladies,

My wedding is booked at the Jade for June 17, 2015, but I'm going there for vacation next week for spring break and have set up a meeting with the wedding coordinator (since I'm there anyway I figured I might as well!) Is there anything you guys would reccomend asking/going over while we're actually there in-person, keeping in mind that we have 0 planning done so far?

Thanks!

Rachel

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
