My opinion is it's your wedding do what you want!

If you had your wedding back home you would most likely have a head table with your MOH and Best Man therefore the Wife would be sitting elsewhere.

The other option is do one long rectangular table and you guys sit in the middle and have the MOH and Best man sit on either side of you and the wife sit next to her husband.....

Good luck

This is what we did for our wedding - one long table.  We had a wedding party of 5, and I had the Maid of Honor and Best Man set next to my husband and I and then their partners beside them.  I had each member of the wedding party sit beside their significant other.  I also had our parents sit directly across form us, with our dads seated beside each other.  It worked out perfectly, no one felt left out or separated.

That's what I thought to do originally, but our MOH is single, so we'd have an odd number (5 ppl) at the table.... hmm

Having a sweetheart table is a chance for you and you new husband to pause and spend time with one another. Since the party is so small (mine is the same size as yours) take that moment for you.

My wife :) I'm a guy.... (rare on here, I know)

but yeah I get what you're saying, still on the fence for what to decide... I think there's a good argument to be made either way

Hi Ladies!

So just an update, Im just under 3 months to go! WOOHOO! I contacted my travel agent to get an updated itinerary on how many guests booked and how many rooms have been booked. So far we have 17 rooms booked! 27 people plus the fiance and I is 29.im positive of another 10 people who are booking so it seems like we will have about 40 people! Im excited so many people are able to join us, but it is more then i expected! Especially since the divine package is good for 25 guests! Oh well!

Im also a bit nervous because we have the terrace for our reception but now that i know well have more guests im not sure if it will be too tight!

On another note, I want the reception and pergola to look as pretty and romantic as possible. my vision is loads of rose petals and flowers hanging off the aisle chairs and candles.

What type of decor do future or past brides think are a good idea to bring or have brung? So far i have table runners and chair bows, rose petals, and  paper lanters. Ill also be bringing some bubbles to leave on the chairs at the pergola.

Any adice/tips would be great!!!

Thanks Everyone!

Emma

Hi Emma!

Congratulations! We getting married on May 7, so we are getting quite close as well! :) We also ended up with 40 guests and we are keeping the terrace for the reception. It will be cozy :) I really wanted to have the reception held outside…and personally, I prefer being a bit too tight than the risk of a room looking "empty". But more space for dancing and partying at the Bamboo Room for sure…

We had an odd number of attendants, I just made it work.  My one bridesmaid sat on the opposite side of the table to the bride and groom.  She was single and sat beside my aunt.  My husband had a groomsmen that was single also.  Just seat someone beside the MOH that she will be able to chat with - unless you are having one table just with the bride, groom and attendants then that wont work.  But I think it is absolutely fine if it doesn't balance!  No one will think it's weird.

Questions for the past brides!

1. How much did you tip the WC/photographer/DJ? Is it still appropriate to tip 15-20% of the total cost of the package/price?

2. Was there "top shelf" liquor for the Divine package? What kind of vodka/cognac/tequila was included/served?

3. For anyone who used the photo booth, did you bring your own props or does it come with a lot of options?

Thanks in advance for any advice and tips!!

i was concerned about "top shelf" liquor as well, since most people only drink shots, i don't think it was top shelf, but noone really cared, everyone took shots and got drunk either way. It wasn't horrible quality either.

for the photobooth, they bring a lot of props and everyone had a blast dressing up. it was a whole box of of different things like glasses, hats, boas, plastic guitars

I originally ordered it online but it wasn't enough and it was expensive...ended up going to michaels and getting big containers of it ...also ya never enough while your doing the sand ceremony and it meshes together on the flight back, we ended up dumping it out and re doing it at home!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
