For the past brides....

Has anyone chosen "White Beans Cappuccino with a Smoked Bacon Oil" as their 2nd course? What is it? Have a pic? Was it good??

This is likely a bean soup with a whipped foam on top.

Some of the cream soups they call "cappuccino" due to the foam that they add on top.  It is served in a cappuccino cup.  It probably has a bit of bacon flavored oil on top.

Hello Brides! I'm new to BDW, but we are getting married November 21st, 2014 at the Now Jade :D Any thoughts or suggestions on reception venues? We will be inviting 50 guests, but if only 20 or 30 show up, I don't want to have a huge reception room booked for dancing because I feel it would seem empty! Is there a disco or anything if we want to keep the party going afterwards, or if we just choose a restaurant for our reception dinner?

That's our date also!!

Thank you very much for all the info! I was wondering if you can tell me if 4pm starting the ceremony at the perogla would be too late? We are hiring outside photographers and would hate to have the sun go down when we are finished our ceremony and it is time to start taking photos. Any insight from anyone would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

We are doing ours at 4:00 on the pergola in November. Sunsets about 5 but the ceremony will be short and sweet. We're going to do some newlywed photos before and a few after so we still have light and of course our family shots.

I considered moving it to 3:00 and pilar told me that would be an option, however my reception would have to be at 6 still and I did not want an hour time gap between the end of my cocktail hour and the reception.

Hi Ladies!

So just an update, Im just under 3 months to go! WOOHOO! I contacted my travel agent to get an updated itinerary on how many guests booked and how many rooms have been booked. So far we have 17 rooms booked! 27 people plus the fiance and I is 29.im positive of another 10 people who are booking so it seems like we will have about 40 people! Im excited so many people are able to join us, but it is more then i expected! Especially since the divine package is good for 25 guests! Oh well!
Im also a bit nervous because we have the terrace for our reception but now that i know well have more guests im not sure if it will be too tight!

On another note, I want the reception and pergola to look as pretty and romantic as possible. my vision is loads of rose petals and flowers hanging off the aisle chairs and candles.

What type of decor do future or past brides think are a good idea to bring or have brung? So far i have table runners and chair bows, rose petals, and  paper lanters. Ill also be bringing some bubbles to leave on the chairs at the pergola.

Any adice/tips would be great!!!

Thanks Everyone!

Emma

Congrats Emma, it's less than 8 months for me but time is going so so fast.

I am going to also bring candles and for the ceremony fans on the seats in case it's a scorcher.

40 is a great number of guests! I have been reading a lot of reviews that say if you go over the 25 that you don't need the extra sparkling wine toast or the cake.

I'm getting married on the Pergola next Friday! The decor I'm bringing with me is: chair bows, table runners, 24 paper lanterns, small candles and candle holders for the reception tables, starfish and shells that I found at Michael's, flower petals for pergola aisle, instead of a guest book we are doing a mat frame with a picture of us so guests can sign around it, cake topper, hand painted maracas for each guest (favor) and I made my own ceremony programs and menus to place on each guests plate for the reception.  We aren't really doing much at the Pergola for decor since it is already so beautiful outside and our ceremony is only like 10 min long... but the candles/flowers idea sounds like it will be really pretty!

Hi ladies,

so im having a dilema... we are getting married at the pergola and i have no idea where to get my shoes?!! my girls dress are a coral-pink... any suggestions???

My bridesmaids also are wearing coral dresses and they are wearing sandals that I found on 6pm.com ... The shoe is the Gabriella Rocha Dilia and I got it in a nude color which I thought looked really pretty with the coral. Plus is was SUPER cheap, $14.99.  There is also a coral option that I ordered for myself to wear with my wedding dress.  I just thought we would all be more comfortable in sandals instead of heels!

jeninKS,

i also am going to put the petals along the aisle sides! how many petals did you buy and from where? Im just worried if its windy that day the petals will fly all over the place :/

What are you doing with the star fish and shells?? How many guests will you have and where is the reception?

I also will be bringing a cake topper and guest book. For my favors i am doing mini tequilla bottles that the resort offers. I want to save as much as possible but the thought of bringing sooo much still with me sounds terrible lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
