I think my FI just said it was $300 so I wouldn't hire an outside one, lol. I have no idea where he got that number!!

What is everyone considering reasonably priced for a photographer? His prices on the site said starting at $1400 and TTD at $690 (which i would like to do), so that is at around $2000 and I am wondering what that even includes?

I just have a photographer that is willing to pay her own travel for her and her assistant and charge me $3500 for her 5 day, 4 night stay and she will photograph the whole time!! That price will also include our at home reception all day. I think its an amazing deal, but my FI thinks I'm crazy!!!!

You'd have to message Gonzalo about exact prices, but it's the slow season so you could probably get some kind of discount.. and if the photographer is willing to do all that you should probably just do it, lol. Our prices for the photographer was a third of that price if that helps (:

If that price includes the reception and a trash the dress session, that's a pretty good price.  That's a lot of coverage and a lot of photos she's offering.

Hi Ladies!

I am getting married October 3, 2014! I am very concerned about the photographer as I want a lot of moments caught on camera. Did a lot of you hire an outside photographer? What were you looking at for pricing?

We were thinking to have one travel in, as I read if you bring one in from outside that its $300 extra a day!

That is actually not correct. I contacted Pilar about this as I had the same concern, and its $65 for an outside photographer. You basically pay for a visitor pass.

Thank you very much for all the info! I was wondering if you can tell me if 4pm starting the ceremony at the perogla would be too late? We are hiring outside photographers and would hate to have the sun go down when we are finished our ceremony and it is time to start taking photos. Any insight from anyone would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

You can put in the date of your wedding and it will tell you the exact sunset time

We hired an outside photographer, for a few reasons... Getting great photos is really important to us, and something we are willing to spend a bit more of our budget on.

When I was reading the fine print of the wedding package, the photos included stated something like "24 photos from the ceremony" so I took this as ceremony only, and not including the getting ready, recpetion, etc.  This might not be the case (I didn't check with the wedding coordinator), but I just went ahead and booked an outsider anyways...but now I am worried, because I thought the fee for getting a non-guest onto the resort for the day was $65, not $300!  I better check!!

Also a question for all...any experience with ordering from Etsy?  They have really awesome stuff for great prices, but I've never used them...are they reputable? Worth looking at??  Thanks!!

etsy is great!!!! What are you planning on getting from there?

are you doing a trash the dress session also with gonzalo? Or did you just hire him for the wedding day?

Is anyone having their reception on the terrace?? I am, and it seems like nobody else is! LOL everyone seems to go with the bamboo room or castaways.. Hoping i made the right decision

Also, for brides that have done TTD, i bought a second dress that was cheap to go in the water with. It is flowy and silky which i figured would look really pretty underwater. The problem is now that im thinking of it im pretty sure its going to be see through once i get out of the water! lol Has anyone had issues with this? What are your suggestions? Also what type of shoes did you wear when you went to the cenote (if you did).

Do they have fresh flowers to wear in your hair at now jade? If so, how well do they stay in??

I am not doing a TTD session, and we hired him just for the wedding day. As far as the terrace goes, it's gorgeous, it's just outside of the bamboo room.. I wanted our reception there but the mosquitoes are wicked at night during September when we're getting married.

I actually was going to mention the fact that your dress would probably be see through! You'll want to make sure you have white underwear that are a little thicker since those will become see through as well.  I actually recommend that my brides get a white swimming suit if their dress is a silky material.  Strapless typically works on the top and then bottoms leave it as a TTD session instead of a boudoir session :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
