does anyone have any photos from the on site photographer? My fiance is curious how unimpressive they really are to be going out and looking for an off site photographer.

We brought down our own photographer, so we decided to use the resort photographer during our cocktail hour only (so there isn't any bride/groom photos since we were off taking pictures elsewhere). Except for the few I'll post below, all of the photos are very posed family/group shots. I'm still happy we used this service during cocktail hour, rather than skipping it entirely (since we couldn't swap it for anything). Our cocktail hour was in the Orange Lounge.

Another thing I should add is that we got the photo book in the mail last week. I found the colours in the book to be quite off. All the photos had a bit of a yellowish/orangeish hue. Did anyone else notice this?

It's official!! NOVEMBER 6th, 2014!!!

Having a problem with dinner reception costs... we are going to have almost 75 guests. That's an additional about $8000 for dinner!! What else have people done with large groups? That cost is just insane for an all inclusive.

Also, can people share their timeline they used for the 3 hour reception.

How long was your meeting with the wedding coordinator and who did you bring with you?

Perhaps you could do your dinner in the buffet for no added cost? They could section off a portion for you? And then use your reception time for speeches/dancing etc?? Maybe they'd let you use your dinner for 25 for a rehearsal dinner or something.

Woohoo! Have a great time!

One thing I'd like to see is all of the stuff to eat/drink in the preferred club lounge. If you can get a few pics, that'd be great. I heard the alcohol in there is higher end and you can basically make your own drinks!  :D

Yeah. My fiancé finally agreed too! Mostly based on the escalating of my tantrums.

Does anyone know if the resort still has construction going on on the side opposite of the harbor? It was going on last fall, wasn't quite sure what they were doing, but curious to know if it has been completed and what they did.. ?

Hi

I have not been on for awhile so I have a lot of catching up to do :-)

I did breifly see comments about the resort photographer......we used him because of budgets but personally I didnt think he was any good at all, infact I thought he was pretty half soaked and had no imagination, he was clueless.

We did get a few nice shots but nothing that my family members couldnt have taken, none the less I am not a photo kinda girl anyway so i am happy with some of them. I will upload some shortly so that you can see for yourselves.

The drinks are higher end and you can make your own drinks :-) a very quite area. most people go to use the internet (cz the room internest sucks) and read or watch TV.

Food is ok, just snacks really - mini bagels with smoked salmon, mini puff pastries, nuts, pretzals, mini rolls with cheese and ham

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
