Today marks 48 days until our departure to Now Jade!! I bought two chocolate advent calendars and today we opened the first door! I was only going to buy one calendar and start counting down 24 days in advance, but when I was in the store I decided I was too excited and switched it to a 48 day countdown! Yeeeehaw!!!

Hi everyone!  We got back on Thursday from our wedding which was on Saturday!  It was amazing.  The resort is beautiful.  We were never once asked about the timeshare, plus they gave us our vouchers for wine and stuff.  Once we got there, they took us to the preferred side, gave us the benefits but put us in a regular room.  We called down to the preferred concierge and within 5 minutes moved us to a beautiful preferred room at no cost.  We had the Divine package, which worked great for us.  The only thing was that the romantic breakfast in bed we could have done without.  It was better in the buffet.  Also, we were having so much fun with our family and friends that we gifted our massage to my inlaws.  The restaurants were some of the best food I have ever had, so we cancelled our romantic dinner also that way we could have dinner in a restaurant instead.

Isela is great at her job.  The only problem that we had was that instead of the mahi mahi with scallops, they gave us grouper.  We didn't realize it until afterward.  And they didn't label the appetizers so my allergic to seafood guest ended up eating a seafood appetizer by accident.

I had Erica for my hair and she was great.  It was exactly like my picture.  All of my bridal party, plus hair for mothers, none of them liked their hair.

We used the DJ from the resort and they were perfect.

We also used Adventure photography.  They were pretty good.  Price was great.  I would have liked "less posed" photographs.  Some of them were horribly cheesy.  But the ones from the reception were fun.

Also, bring water shoes for the pools.  The tiles are bad in some spots and my husband sliced his foot up pretty good!

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask!

Congrats on your wedding! I am alittle nervous about the sefood situation because my sister is allergic and just simply cannot risk that. So I will have to talk to see if the ultimate package can be supplemented for chicken besides the sea food. Did you put anything on your table so the waiters knew who was eating what? I was thinking of little tent cards with something on it so the caterers didn't give wrong meals to people. Also, do you know if the bamboo room has a balcony attached to it if someone wanted to go get fresh air?? Can you please tell me where the bamboo room is on the resort? I'm trying to decide between bamboo room and Castaways!

Once again congratulations and I look forward to your reply:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
