Thank you for replying Brandi!

And oh boy...haha I was not expecting all that time in between.

We cannot push our wedding back any later now; Pergola is reserved for 3:00pm; pictures, then cocktail hour at 5pm.

The sun sets between 5pm-6pm in Cancun in Oct/Nov!!! So we NEED daylight pictures AND sunset pictures on our wedding day!

We will just have to try out our negotiating skills!

Are you having a card box at your wedding?  I am up in the air.  I don't want it to seem like we are looking for gifts, but at the same time, I want a place for our guests to put them if they bring them. Also, if we are doing out of town bags, do we still do a wedding favor?
Although I'm not getting married same place as you. I decided to do gift bag with small favors for guests and did oot bags for my wedding party

I'm not planning on having a card box since we keep telling people their "presence is present enough". Our bridal party is discreetly puting out by word of mouth that we will be setting up a honeymoon registry. That way if they still have the desire to give, they can contribute to that. As far as favors, we are still deciding between maracas from Amols or doing a group excursion. Ultimately it will depend on our final guest count.

I am wondering the same thing about the card box. I think I am still going to have one because we are telling people not to get anythign for us, but I would still love to have cards to remember the special day. I am doing OOT bags so am not going to have favors at the reception.

We didn't have a card box at our reception and multiple people were looking for a place to put cards (we had also made it evident that the presence of guests at the wedding was present enough, but some still wanted to give a gift and others wanted to give a card to commemorate the day).  One of my friends ended up collecting the cards, but a box would have been nice.  We had OOT and then just a small wedding favor at the reception.

I was wondering how everyone is marking what each guest is eating at the reception dinner? If we have 2 different options how will then no who gets what?
I've seen couples put a cow or fish on menu cards or place cards so the wait staff would know which dish went where. I wish I could remember where I saw an example of this on here. I'm interested in hearing other suggestions as well. I'm not sold on the one I mentioned.

I have luggage tags for wedding favors so instead of having place cards, I'm putting their names on their luggage tag (as you would fill out the address portion of the tag) and having them already placed at their seat. The papers that I use to print their names on are two colors: mint and silver (my wedding colors) so each color wil represent a main course. If it turns out that the colors paper isn't noticeable enough for the service staff, I'll just tie a colored ribbon around the luggage tag. That's the plan in my head. I'll post once they're completed. Complete products could be a total different story LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
