I would also like to add that with the NOW resorts bookit sometimes has "book 5 rooms get one free" promos too, which could help you out if you book all at once (I believe they all need to be on the same transaction....)

Wanted to share that we received our video today included in the divine package. We loved it & think they did an amazing job! We think Adventure Photos was wonderful for photos & video. Still can't figure out why a lot of brides say otherwise. Oh well--just wanted to share our experience! If your on a budget, do not hesitate to use them ;-)

I am also working with Teresa Stauring and based on the quote I received their pricing is VERY close to bookit.com. Plus you get the perks of the room block, payment plans, and free room perks. To give you a good idea based on what I was quoted for my guests on double room occupancy for 4 nights is going to be $460 per person. Avrg rates for flights in my area (Atlanta) is $350 roundtrip to cancun. So total travel expenses is $810 per person. I think bookit was $788 per person so thats about $22 dollar difference. Not to much considering the extra perks and convience of a group block and your family being close to each other during their stay

Hi Shannon,

We are getting married on June 13, 2013...the day before you :-)  We are also getting married in the Pergola, coctails at the Mix Bar, but having our reception in the bamboo room.  I love the terrace but I'm worried about the heat.  We will see how hot it is when we go this June and consider switching.  I will be happy to send you pictures and all of the information I find out. Let's do this together!  I need someone to talk to and two heads are better than one :-) Have you chosen a package?  Are you going to use the resort's flowers and photographer?

How hot did it end up being while you were there for the wedding?  Congrats by the way!!!!

HOT!! It was HOT! Everyone was constantly hot but it's Mexico so we all expected that. Wouldn't stop me going back in June again, but expect it to be hot.

Thanks - we loved the look too - helped to make it feel really romantic.  We made them ourselves - super simple and easy to pack! I purchased vellum paper from staples and printed them on my home PC (with our names, date and starfish we used throughout wedding). We packed them flat in a file folder for protection and then once we got to the resort we rolled them and used glue dots to secure them into the cylinder shape and placed over the tea light (battery operated). The cost was very minimal, it was easy to do, wasn't hard to pack and took no space in the luggage not to mention we had so many compliments on them!  Here is a better picture to see what we did. They turned out gorgeous!! It gave the room such a nice ambiance. I might just light tea candles and out them everywhere cause I'm lazy and not crafty at all haha

We used the guitar player for the cocktail hour - he was fantastic. He played a mix of music and everyone enjoyed him.  We didn't provide any guidance or requests for what he played - just said to do the usual for weddings.  He is very talented and plays some of his own music and does covers too. We missed most of the cocktail hour for photos but what I heard sounded wonderful (and he gifted us a CD of his as a wedding present which is also quite nice). We had many positive comments about how he made the cocktail hour really special.
That's so great to hear. My second thought was to use him for the cocktail hour as well but I think hearing your great review of him I'll keep him for the ceremony now. I just love live guitar music. So romantic!!!!

How long did the videographer film you? Did you get any extra coverage?

They filmed about an hour. A bit in the room getting ready, guest entering ceremony site, entire ceremony, and photos afterwards on the beach. The total edited video is about 25 min long. No extra coverage, just used what was included in the Divine Package.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
