I don't want to seem pushy or crazy doing this so early but I wish I could just get a better idea of how many guests we will have. I plan on making oot bags and would love to get a start on things sooner then later but really can't until I have a better idea of how many ppl will attend... Any suggestions??

Hi EmmA1025,

I am getting married on 9/7.  I sent the save the dates right after new years and had the website up and running with all the info including our travel agent's iinfo.  I sent the invites 4 months before the wedding.  RSVPs were due 2 months before so I had a 2 week padding to fill out the Now Jade paperwork that is due 45 days prior.  We had a few people that we had to call to confirm if they were a yay or nay but it was not too bad.  We have 59 guests not including us so pretty good turnout.

Sounds like you are on track sending the save the dates!!!

Has anyone used www.bookit.com for their weddings? The prices seem unreal because it is so different. For example a 4 night in early June us about $1100 on apple vacations or the jade website and only $800 on bookit.com. Seems crazy. Also I know if you use www.destinationweddings.com they price match. Would they match this?

Hi! I know you posted this a couple months back but did you do a room block or was this individual booking? I'm working with someone with Wright Travel now and im waiting on the group rate. We're flying out of NJ.
sorry for getting back to you so late. I worked with Teresa Stauring from Vacations4less and she is amazing! I believe she got us a great deal and the best part is we stay for free and can give other free nights to others which I awesome. For every 5 booked rooms you get one room for free in the lowest category and number of nights. Question resulting from this: if I give my photographer a free night, would I still have to pay the day passes for him and his assistant? Less than 3 months to go. Ahhhhhh

Has any past, present or future bride chosen to use the live music (1-45 min set of guitar or sax) that's included in the divine package??? I'm interested in knowing what type of music was played. I like the ideal of the ceremony feeling as Mexican as possible, considering that's where I chose to get married. And I don't really want to fuss with the sound system and having to pick songs for the ceremony. Thoughts???? :)

We used the guitar player for the cocktail hour - he was fantastic. He played a mix of music and everyone enjoyed him.  We didn't provide any guidance or requests for what he played - just said to do the usual for weddings.  He is very talented and plays some of his own music and does covers too. We missed most of the cocktail hour for photos but what I heard sounded wonderful (and he gifted us a CD of his as a wedding present which is also quite nice). We had many positive comments about how he made the cocktail hour really special.

I used bookit!!!  My parents booked their trip for the wedding, as did two of my sisters, and my FI's entire side of the family.  You can book online or call into their centre.  I called into their 800 line and the rep was amazing.  They run specials all the time, and have promo codes too.  If you have any questions, feel free to PM me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
