I was going to bring my own lanterns but it just didn`t happen prior to leaving for Mexico.  I had told Pilar I was bringing them so she asked for them to set up, I told her not to worry about it since it wasn`t a priority but Pilar was able to get some and surprised me by adding them to the Bamboo Room for us.  You can see from this picture we had about 9-10 and it looked great! They were in 2 or 3 different sizes but I`m not sure what the dimensions were.  The room is beautiful so it will look great with or with out lanterns tho :) LL
It looks great! Did you use up lighting in the room or is that the lighting that is already in the room!

There was 17 of us total. We had one long table but you can definitely more than 17 on one side with seperate tables. I also brought paper lanterns; I believe I brought 30. They were a mix of all different sizes.

No up lighting - just used what they have plus luminaries for centerpiece decor (that's what you see glowing on the tables).  Plus we had a FAB photographer to capture shots like this!!

Shannon,

Did you have a welcome dinner? If so were you able to select the buffet location?

Were there activities that you and your guests participated in? I believe I saw an excerpt referring to cigar rolling, zumba and other day classes. Is this true?

Hey ladies! It's been a while since my last post but I was wondering where everyone was going for their honeymoon after now jade if they were planning on it? My FI and I definitely want to move to another resort to honeymoon alone for a few days but not sure where to go. Anyone have any god spots to honeymoon at? Thanks!

We did not do a welcome dinner. We did a "Welcome Cocktail", meet and greet type thing the evening before the wedding. We just all met in the lobby bar. Just a chance for everyone to get to meet each other before the wedding. We put this in our brochure, something along the lines of "After dinner, join us in the lobby bar for some cocktails and to mingle and get to know each other." Something like that.. I wanted to be sure to put the "after dinner" line so people knew there would be no food. We also took this opportunity to hand out our welcome bags.

I didn't have any activities organized for our guest. Everyone did their own thing during the day. A bunch of us were at the pool often and did do Zumba and water arobeics, wine tasting too. All the activities are listed in the Sun Dial they give you daily. They always have something going on at the pool. Water polo, water balloon fights, beach volleyball, pool volleyball. There's always something!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
