OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Pilar & Freddy at the spa told me one month prior. I made mine around the 15th of May for my June 14th wedding. I'm sure 45 days wouldn't hurt. Below is my correspondence with Pilar: -When do I need to schedule hair/make up for me and my sister? 1 MOTH BEFORE TO THE CEREMONY THE CONTACT IS FREDY LUGO HIS EMAIL ADDRESS IS SPA1.NOJRC@NOWRESORTS.COM -When do I need to schedule our couples massage included in package for my fiancé and I? YOU CAN SCHEDULE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE RESORT. The wedding planning form is to be submitted 45 days ahead--maybe that's what you read? However, I've submitted mine and still haven't heard back from them & I'm just 3 weeks out.... Which is fine, thankfully I'm completely laid back & we'll just figure everything out when we arrive.
Thanks! This is very helpful. Thanks for the email address too.

You can def book your hair and makeup now, so it's out of the way. I booked mine 1 month away only. As you for the DJ< don't worry..they will have one for you . They will send you a form when time comes so you can tell them what songs you want to play etc.
Thanks, that makes me feel better regarding the DJ. I was worried that she wouldn't respond to my emails and we'd get down there and find that the DJ isn't available!

Hi September Bride!!!  I am one too - getting married on 9/7 which is 3.5 mos away!!!  I have not booked my hair/makeup/spa yet but thanks for the reminder!  I have been pretty on track with things I can be, but maybe I am being a little chill too.   I have tried to contact Pilar, but she does not contact me back.  My fiance finally just sent a request through the concierge and received a quicker response from another coordinator.  Maybe try that or set up a call.  I keep reading that everything will be fine when we get there though. I think the light month is due to hurricane season.  The last hurricane was in 2005 so hopefully (fingers crossed) the weather will be perfect.... Honestly, we went to Puerto Vallarta in October a few years ago.  A hurricane passed through but did not hit land.  The Dreams resort was very prepared and we even saw weddings go on a few days later.  Hopefully everything will be okay.  Let's just say it will.  ;) What time did you decide to get married at?
Great to hear from you!! I may try the concierge desk too, that's great info. I'm not too worried about the weather, there's nothing we can do about it know anyways except keep our fingers crossed. My FI and I went to Now Jade back in Sept. 2012 and the weather was also perfect. We thought the resort was perfect and had no complaints at all. Here's some weather websites to monitor, but don't freak yourself out! http://www.noaanews.noaa.gov/stories2013/20130523_hurricaneoutlook_atlantic.html http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

We are leaving in a week! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this thread. I don't know how I could have done without it!

A while back someone posted a live feed of their ceremony. Does anyone know if this is a service that the hotel provided, and if so, how much did it cost? Also, has anyone tried to get them to swap the photographer services for the photobooth?

Jen- It appears that the resort is providing a webcam service for a discounted price since it is a new offering ($599$: http://www.amresorts.com/wedding_guides/drerc-wedding-guide.pdf

Apologies...I accidentally posted the wedding guide for Dreams Riviera Cancun. The current NOW Jade wedding guide hasn't been updated to include the webcam service as far as I can tell, but if they offer it, I would assume that similar pricing would apply to AMR resorts in the same area. http://www.amresorts.com/wedding_guides/nojrc-wedding-guide.pdf

Hey ladies, I was wondering if anyone else has planned or have already given out luggage tags as wedding favors? My own plan is to use them as both escort cards and wedding favors by printing their names on stock paper with pretty font and putting it in the name/address slot. It'll be a semi DYI project but I'm stuck on actually finding the perfect luggage tags right now. I'd like to splurge by buying leather, but haven't been able to find the right ones online (without them being around $10 a piece) I was thinking probably silver in color instead of going with my wedding colors... which might be a little too feminine for the men guests to actually use. Has any past, present or future brides done the same thing and can point my in the right direction? Thanks!! Heather

Have you already looked on Amazon? I found a few leather luggage tags for about $5 or under: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=Leather&qid=1369673167&rh=n%3A1036592%2Cn%3A!1036682%2Cn%3A15743161%2Cn%3A15743971%2Cn%3A1234358011%2Ck%3ALeather&sort=price

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
