OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

So I have been reading the Trip Advisor reviews and they are now consistently BAD!! I am freaking out and we are 6 months out and I am actually thinking of canceling because I want nothing but the BEST for my guests. When we booked 6 months ago the reviews were all great and they have just been going down hill since. One of the big things is the quality of food. I want to make sure everyone will enjoy the food and have a great time but now I feel like everyone will just have complaints that they paid all of this money for my fiance and I to see us get married and they are at a horrible resort!!   Sorry for the venting but I am freaking out a bit lol. Hopefully management is following up and not just saying they are!
In terms of the food, it was good. I said good, not great. But keep in mind this is an all-inclusive resort and I have been to many of them and I can't say that I have ever had great food at one. The specialty restaurants are better than good. I was worried about this too but honestly none of my guests complained. Remember that it is about the experience and your guests will like the ease of not having to pay per meal or drink which can really add up... Overall, don't worry about the reviews, I can assure you that unless people are trying to look for something to pick at they will have a great time and not worry about the food!

Hey ladies! I'm hoping you guys may be able to answer a couple questions for me.

1.the divine packagesnincludes services of a judge or minister, so do we have to pay the $600?

2. Do you have to arrive 3 or 4 business days in advance? My paperwork says 3 my TA says 4. And is the day you arrive counted towards that?

Thank you!!

You will not have to pay for their services, but you will be charged for the their transportation ($50), the apostille documents (making them officially legal in Mexico - $165) and the blood test ($250).  These are prices I was given in March.

The legal requirements provided by the site state: Bride, Groom & Witnesses must arrive in Cancún 4 working days prior to the wedding day (Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays do not count). Symbolic and non-legal ceremonies allow flexibility for arrival date. Please speak with the wedding coordinator to discuss requirements. For some reason when I booked last year I thought it was 3 days, but that must have changed.

Good Luck, I hope this helps!

Is anyone thinking about doing a room block with NOW Jade? Ive been working with a TA but I keep going back and forth if I should do it or not?? I just get a little nervous when i read about guests getting to the resort and not having their rooms...

Also, you may get a discount if you book as a group and get a certain amount of people to attend!! :)

Thank you so much for the feed back! & yes I think I will go for the room block. I don't want there to be any issues with overbooking. & hey discounts can never be bad! lol

Wow that rate is awesome!!! When are you getting married? I am currently working with Wright Travel and working with Wendy. I hope she can get me that good of a rate!

As i have stated in previous threads, hotels, flights, tours etc over sell almost 90% of the time. if you go onto trip advisor right now, you will read of several complaints of hotels over selling other hotels and being put at the Now Jade. If you want to ensure that none of your group will get bumped in that event, I would definitly reccomend booking as a group or at least getting blocked space at the hotel.

Thank you for the feed back. What TA are you working with?? & yea you're right... thats really my worry that someone will possibly be bumped!

Kind of jealy right now. This wasn't in our budget for a week and we didn't think it was worth going for 3-4 days and then have to deal with relocating a second time.  But we'll keep it on our to-do list for an anniversary trip

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
