Is there any clubs/bars to go to near the resort? or you would just have to take a trip into cancun city for that type of nightlife? Llooking forward to your review as well!

We had 36 people, Cermony at Pergola, Cocktail and Mix Bar, and Bamboo room for reception.  Originally we had picked the Ocean Terrace but I changed it before I arrived.  I know others have said it seemed kind of narrow, but I actually think it would have been fine.

Hi girls - I'm getting married at the Now Jade on January 24, 2014! We're very excited and have been doing some of the early planning. We've decided to go with an outside photographer, but I have a question on that to the brides that have used outside photographers as well. Do we have to provide dinner for the photographer? He will only be staying for about 1-1.5 hours of the reception including the dinner. Also, I know that the Divine Package includes a guitarist or violinist at the ceremony. Does anybody know if we can give them specific songs to play or do they just play something generic?

I am getting married on the same day? What time is your ceremony and where are you having your reception? How many people are you having? Sorry if this intrusive, you don't have to give me details. It's just neat to think there is someone in the exact same boat I am in lol

SUNQUEST - BEWARE

I am getting married May 9 and we leave May 4.

I booked my wedding group through flightcentre with Sunquest.  We did not have our flight times until last week (keep in mind we paid 6 months prior) only to find out that the 30 family and friends that booked with us will be on different flights! 8 of us were on the same flight out and the rest were on a different flight.  Not to mention the other 18 were put on a overnight stop over in Montreal on the way back to toronto!!! We paid 1602 for our flight and in my opinion that is way to expensive for the other 18 to be paying for a stop over flight and they are refusing to reimburse some money back to those 18 people.  All they are doing is paying for their hotel.  we have had people pull out and book last minute with other travel agencies because of this.  So now everyone is on scattered flights.  Has anyone had an issue like this?

What is the point of booking ahead of time and as a group if this is what happens!

There unfortunately are not any bars close by to go to.  Your best bet would be Cancun or Playa, but pretty far unless you make a big even out of it.

Is it more of a bar or club feel at night?  I want to do my bachelorette there but i am worried it wont be so much fun if its more of a bar.  Thinking of doing playacrawl or coco bongo.

I am so sorry :( When we were researching our TA warned us against using Sunquest as she had them actually cancel flights outright a few weeks before for a bunch of guests travelling from Saskatoon (and gave them no rebooking alternative, they just cancelled the entire flight).  That really sucks, but hopefully your guests understand that it's not your fault at all and of course they will still have an amazing vacation!

As well, hopefully it serves as a warning to other brides to steer clear of Sunquest.

I would say both, clubby on the dance floor but there are also pool tables. Overall I would say more of a club and dancing feel

I would HIGHLY reccomend booking your travel as a group. As i have stated in previous threads, hotels, flights, tours etc over sell almost 90% of the time. if you go onto trip advisor right now, you will read of several complaints of hotels over selling other hotels and being put at the Now Jade. If you want to ensure that none of your group will get bumped in that event, I would definitly reccomend booking as a group or at least getting blocked space at the hotel.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
