Well I leave early Sunday morning and I have my ceremony on Wednesday! (April 24th)  1 week!  My ceremony is at 11am and our plans for afterwards (a catamaran cruise with cocktails and appetizers) fell through.  So I'm headed to Mexico with no reception booked.  I'm very curious to see how everything unfolds!  Not sure if anyone else has gone plan-less!  But I will let you all know what ends up happening!

Congtratulations and good luck.  Our wedding is not unil November but i am pretty plan-less at this stage.  its a long day when your getting married at 11am and difficult to try and organise the whole day.  We have the moments package which is free when you upgrade to the prefferd side so we are aiming to tailor it to our budget which is quite difficult because the costs keep adding up with flowers, additional guests, photgraphy, hair and make up, flower arches etc

The lines I am thinking are as follows:

11am                  Ceremony on the beach

11.30am             Photos - during this time our guests will enjoy cocktail hr with appetizers

(although I am not sure if we are paying for cocktails as this is an all inclusive resort so we will pay for appetizers only)

1pm                     Lunch - I will request that we have a section of the carnival restaurant reserved for our wedding party.

3-7pm                 Free time for guests to freshen up and chill out.

7pm-9pm            Reserve a section in one of the restaurants (we may reserve the private terrace but will make this decision when we

are there)  We are having a reception on our return and as there is only 20 of us we feel that putting on a full reception is

not necessary with all the extra costs.

9pm onwards      Well the night is still young so who know?? lol

I am sure everything all plans out perfect for you but please let us know how it all goes.

Hi Remykion!

You and I are getting married the same day!! Congrats!

My ceremony is at 5pm at the Pergola, cocktail hour at the Mix Bar at 6pm and reception from 7-11pm at the Carnival Terrace. I am thinking of switching the reception to Castaway since we might have more than 30 people going, if so I will let you know and maybe you can book the Carnival Terrace?

Hi Michellelepore1

How exciting!! it wont be long now.  Awww thats nice of you, yea let me know what you decide and at least I can bare that as an option.

How are your plans coming along, do you have your Dress?  I am really organised this end but as for over there I know what I want up until the cocktail hour and then im a little stumbled for the reception, I am happy to reserve a restaurant but not sure what food everyone is going to like? i am hoping Pilar will give me some inspiration on choice of restaurant (as long as we all have a group sit down meal thats fine)

Hi all Well we leave Monday - I can't believe how fast it came!! It has been a stressful month with my mom being in the hospital (out of no where) and me getting very sick this week. Mom has been cleared to travel and i am on the mend - so focus is back on I have resolved that this is a test!!! I hope I haven't forgot anything - any past brides have any "oh crap, don't forget me " lists they can share? I think I am pretty good - all the shipments arrived to pilar, and I have my dress - but beyond that I hope I'm not missing anything. I honestly can't wait for April 24 - so I can marry the love of my life and put the stress behind me.

Hi Lindsay,

What company did you use to ship your things to Pilar?

Thanks.

Hi Everyone.

I am just going through my budget spreadsheet and noticed under "ceremony" Cocktails are $15.00 plus taxes per person per HOUR. What is this for? I thought we had an open bar for cocktail hour? There is absolutely no way that I am paying this as I have 80 guests!!!! HELP.....:(:(:(:(

This fee is if you extend your reception beyond the 3 hrs included in the wedding package.  Anything beyond what is included gets this additional fee in order to pay for the extra staff on among other things I would imagine...

That is what I would have thought as well, however, Pilar just emailed me something and she had added the coctails into my budget sheet! I CANNOT afford to be paying 15.00 plus tax a head per person PER HOUR for the reception for 80 people....this cannot be correct. I am seriously panicking right now. If you pay the $250 to have the open bar in the reception room will you still have to pay the 15.00 per person per hour?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
