What is the "Upgraded photo package"? I am ttrying to decide if it is worth it to bring out own photographer down or now but I dont have anything to comapre! thanks ladies!!!

We didn't use the photographer (included in Divine package) for the wedding day since we booked an external one -- SweetFire Photography from Playa del Carmen, AMAZING work -- but we did use the photography for a TTD two days later so I can give you an idea of what is included.

We had the photog for approx. 2 hrs (our shoot was around the resort - ocean, pools etc).  Only 1 photographer.

The upgraded package means you get a hardcover photo book with 24 photos. You select them out of the photos they took, you can add more if you want for a fee ($15 per picture).  There is a discount if you decide to purchase all of the images.

You get a DVD with the 24 images you selected (hi-res) and a slideshow they put together with all the images.

I love my TTD pictures but I will say I am so happy we opted for an external photographer because the resort photographers simply don't have the same creative spirit or attention to detail a professional does.  For example in a few of my TTD photos you can see the ribbon that you hang the dress by poking out the side of my strapless dress - the photographer didn't notice to say anything, nor was it edited away during touch ups.  In general there seems to be very little photo editing done by resort photographers (probably due to time constraints).

Here is a link to the TTD photo slideshow they put together for us http://11-02-13grahamttd.nowjade.adventurephotos.com.mx

Just posted my review from our wedding last week! Hope its helpful! Good Luck in all your planning!

Awesome review, thank you! It's always reassuring to hear how well the weddings go. I'm glad you really liked the food too, and those were good tips for the sports lounge and kids.

Our reception is scheduled from 6-9, I think we'll extend it by an hour, but still ending it at 10 seems kind of early! I guess the adults could all go to the sports bar afterwards though?

Hi EmmA1025,

At the beginning of this forum it states the following:

There are divine and eternity dinner options (4 entree choices in total) and your guests can choose their entree in advance for free, or on the spot for an extra $30 per person, or you can choose for them for free.

It is really up to you but most people are used to choosing their meals months beforehand.  I just went to a wedding where everyone was so excited to try what they selected when they RSVP'd.  When you make your invites, the RSVP card can list beef, fish, vege or be more specific.  Your stationary store can help you with that.  Hope that helps!

Canada05, thank you for your review!  I have posted it on page two of this thread so other brides can find it easily.

Sorry the photographer was so awful, but I'm glad you had a backup plan.

Congratulations!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
