thats good to know about the welcome bags not needing a favor thanks!! I am wondering the same thing as our head table is going to have 12 people at it and then the rest of the tables will be the round ones. Does anyone know if I am going to be able to do that. ALSO, I read somewhere something about if you have a large group they will let you have a buffet meal instead of the plated meal with the Divine pkg. Does anyone know anything about this? I really want to do the buffet as there is no way all 80 people are going to enjoy the same plated meal....
I think the cost is the same per extra person for the buffet--but just so you know, not all 80 people have to have the same meal. We give our guest 2 meal options in the rsvp card. Some brides did 3 but we just offered 2. Everyone will have the same first & second course and whichever entree they chose. We offered the beef fillet & shrimp and Mahi Mahi & Scallops.

I dont mind paying the same cost to have the buffet i just dont want to be paying anymore. I would just like my guests to have more selections and the buffet would still be nice in the bamboo room! You must be getting excited shannonmarie your wedding is coming quickly!! Do you have your seating chart for your reception yet? I am assuming that they will have a "welcome" table set up with the guest book and table number assignments right? What locations are you doing for your wedding and how many people do you have booked?

I am getting very excited! I can't believe it's almost here! I made a basic seating chart using Wedding Wire just so I know which guest will be at which table number so I can make the escort cards and it's mostly complete. I'm just waiting on our exact head count to finish it completely. I'll also bring Pilar a list of how many of each entree at each table number. Our reception is in Castaways and I have no idea how the room set up so I just made a basic seating chart to give to Pilar and she can just put the tables where ever. I do plan on having a guest book table and a table for our escort cards. I haven't had much contact with Pilar in this past year so I'll just figure all that out when we get down there. I'm pretty relaxed about the whole thing. Everyone's reviews say they are awesome pulling it all together once you get down there so that's what I'm hoping! Our ceremony is at the Pergola and Cocktails at the Mix Bar. Right now we have about 60 people booked and expecting 7-10 more to book within the next few weeks... I'm hoping that will be it! We are already wayyy over what we originally expected!

oh awesome, I will have to check out wedding wire! Wow you are at a good number as well!!! Its crazy how it adds up with all of those people though lol. Everyone always thinks that it is so cheap and easy to do a destination wedding but it sure does add up! I cant wait to read your review when you get back. What color bridesmaid dresses are you having?

I'll definitely write a review when we get back. I don't know what I would have done without this website! Yes, definitely check out Wedding Wire. It's very user friendly! The cost per extra person over 25 people is ridiculous, it honestly makes me sick. I don't know why they don't have a higher package that includes more people. But I keep telling myself it is what it is and there is nothing we can do about it! A destination wedding CAN be cheap but only if you don't have a lot of guest. I think I mentioned this earlier but I really think the cost should go down when you have soooo many guest attending! We are bringing 60+ guest to the resort for a week for our wedding, I feel like we should be rewarded for that, not penalized!! LOL! I can't believe how many people you have booked so early. We didn't get our first booking until 6 months prior to our wedding (January)!

We have a small wedding party, only my sister as Maid of Honor and my fiance has both his best friends for his Best Man. My main color is the color of my sisters dress which is Fuchsia, actually, I think it's more of a hot pink, the tag says fuchsia but I've realized during this process that there are a lot of variations of the color Fuchsia! But anyway it's more of a hot pink. So, our color is fuchsia (hot pink) with white accents. Fiance and best men are wearing gray suits with white button down shirts. Fiance will have a tie, but not the best men.

I totally agree with you, I am interested to see how much you can negotiate when you are down there. Maybe get upgraded to the presidential suite? hahaha that would be nice!! awe your colors are so similar to mine! My girls are wearing Coral and the guys are wearing beige suits same thing only my FI wearing a tie! It will be interesting to see how the resort feels with so many guests as it is not a huge resort! Are you going to do any excurssions or anything with everyone? Have you been to the resort before? I have seen it twcie (I am a travel agent so have done 2 site inspections on it haha) but have never actually stayed there for more then about 6 hours! Are all of your guests arriving at the same time by the way? All 80 of us are arriving on the same flight haha we almost have the whole plane! but I am a little nervous about check in...I dont want my guests to be waiting a long time in the lobby. ah all of these small details!

Thank you.  That gives great perspective.  Are you planning on meeting the florist out front to avoid paying the $350 outside vendor fee?  Is your wedding party placing the flowers on the tables.  I am curious of the logistics.  Sounds like a fab idea to get extra flowers from an outside source.

I AM planning to have a few groomsmen meet the florist out front to pick of the centerpieces, though I'm not quite sure on the logistics of the actual set up right now.....good point!  I was planning on asking the wedding planner what she wanted us to do. It would be great if someone else has input on how this works....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
