Yeah, I'm not a big fan those white covered chairs so it was one of my known splurges early on so I will still do it but I am not happy about all the hidden fees and mandatory "tips" that are added. I will just cut back somewhere else I guess.

Hi Ladies,

Is anyone else confused by picking the menu? I have the Divine package. I have the menu options Deisy sent me and what I am hoping we can do is pick from either the Divine or the eternity menu. I was thinking can I choose One Salad, One Soup/starter and then choose two different dinner options  for guests to choose from. Like a chicken and a beef. Then I asked her if we can swap the dessert for something else and she said no. I am just super confused and I would like to know since I need to put the options on the invitations. Any suggestions or any past brides that can tell me what they chose?? Thanks!

Hi Michelle,

Pilar told us we can choose from any menu since we got the Divine pkg.  We did exactly that- same salad and soup, choice of two entrees, plus a veggie option.   Same dessert for all. Here are the menus:

Have you taken your pics? If so, how was it? I have an appointment on April 13th and I am starting to get really nervous!

I had my Boudoir session this past Monday and I canâ€t believe I almost deemed it not necessary.  This was the best thing I could have ever done for myself and the icing on the cake is that my Fi is going to flip, Iâ€m totally going to knock his socks off!  My self-esteem is at an all-time peak, Iâ€m totally obsessed  and in awe with myself.  You wonâ€t regret it.  The best part of the entire day was seeing the slideshow at the end.  I think my commentary was something like “Oh my God thatâ€s me… My body is awesome and I look so good… I never knew I had that in me…

Words of advice:

  1. Trust you photographer when it comes to cues and direction.  Short of choosing my outfits, I let my photog do the rest. Most of my poses felt very un-natural, some even uncomfortable and I quickly realized that I didnâ€t know my right from my left, but it all translated beautifully.  At the end of the day I was amazed with how my photos turned out.  Some of the most  uncomfortable poses made for the best photos.  Looking through my pics after the session, I saw myself in way that I never thought I would and found myself using adjectives to describe myself that I never felt applied
  2. Have fun and enjoy the experience; donâ€t over think it.  If your photog is anything like mine, youâ€ll forget that youâ€re half nude and in lingerie within the first 5 min - body conscience went out the window.  I was too busy trying to follow direction and having miscellaneous conversation to be concerned/focused on anything else.

eek, I am so self-conscious about my body after having my daughter (who is now 7 LOL). Do they provide wine, cuz I might need wine haha!  He would love it, I just don't know if I could bring myself to do it.

Mine provides a glass of wine but I'm going to hang out at my sisters house first and I'll def be having a glass or 2 there as well! I think if you can bring yourself to do it, you'll be happy you did! I know my FI will be shocked, he would never expect this from me!

I whole heartedly believe that every woman needs to do this for herself.  I went into my session with my Fi in mind and I think I'm the one who really benefitted and got a gift. I have severe scoliosis and my body is pretty contorted as a result and I have a gnarly 10â€scar down my back. My photog made the things I hate beautiful.  I was suprised as to how hard it was to pick my favorites because I honestly loved them all and this was even before final touch-ups...Just do it!

I'm suddenly so full of questions! How big is the wedding cake included in the Divine Package? As of right now, we are expecting around 59 guest! WAY more than we planned for! We originally thought about 35ish. Holy costs are adding up! Do you think we would be okay to add extra wedding cake for maybe around 25 extra people instead of 34 extra people?

Also, the h'odourves for cocktail hour, instead of adding 34 extra, do you think we could get by with adding 25 extra also? I know they include 5 for each person, we are just trying to pinch pennys where we can! Hoping this will work. I've heard some brides who had 35 people total didn't add any extras and were fine. So I'm hoping I can get a way with just adding some extra but not enough for every single guest to have 5 each.

My idea of a small intimate wedding is totally out the window! :-(

I'm trying to come to terms with having so many people, the majority of which I don't even know and have never even met! Still better than having a local wedding with 200+ guest attending!

I was told you have to pay extra for every guest that you have ! Im having about 60 also. The cost is SOOO much when you have this many more people. You have to pay additional $15 pp just for cocktail hour, which makes no sense to me, when your staying at an all inclusive ! I would rather skip the cocktail hour all together and tell people just go to the bars in the hotel , but they dont let you

Can I interject here, even though I'm not a past bride? LOL!  Food for thought (literally), the meals all come with a dessert as well, so we did not increase the wedding cake.  I've read reviews on here that say there was leftover cake, so that seems like a waste.  And we also are not upping the hors d'oeuvres because 15 of our guests are in the wedding party and will be with us doing pics etc- so that's something to think about.  Also, we need to remember that we're at an all-inclusive resort and there's lots of options if people want to snack.  It's so stressful, worrying about these things, when in reality, i dont think people will care or notice.

Speaking of- we now have my brother-in-law deciding he wants to come (originally didnt think he could get the time off work).  8 weeks out.  so frustrating!!!  And we also have a guest coming that used to work with Anthony, I have met him once.  Who does that?  I feel like the destinaiton wedding is supposed to be small and intimate.  He was also thinking of inviting some dude on his hockey team that I have never met and I put my foot down.  Come ON. !!!!

So they let you have the cake for just the 25 people and didnt charge you the extra per person, i was told i didnt have a choice.... I dont want to pay extra for cake, or champagne toast ! But the quote is basically telling me i have to. They are also charging me for coctail hour for all my extra guests. And since I have 60+ guests this is all adding up !!!!

FIND ATTACHED HTE VEGETARIAN  OPTIONS  YUO CAN SELECT THEIR MENU

Does that mean the entire menu or just the entree?

For your veg guests you can select separate appetizer and salad since the other options mostly have seafood/meat.  That's what we did - potato/asparagus soup in lieu of lobster bisque and a different salad (can't remember exactly what) in lieu of the salad with shrimp.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
