Well, mostly it's the make up I am worried about. I only had two bad hair experiences!

Myself and BM (3) all had their hair and make-up done at the spa.  They did great.  Two of us had hair inspiration pictures and two didn't but they were awesome with all of us.  They also have about 3 binders full of inspiration pictures of hair and make-up (lots seem to be print outs from pinterest...potentially left by previous brides?) so they definitely know how to work from pictures.  The two mothers also had their hair only done and were very happy with it.

Regarding their make-up - they do a very nice job and it definitely stays put throughout the day but FYI it is not name brands like MAC so if you really care about that you may want to bring your own to the spa.  We didn't and it was fine but some people might be more picky or sensitive to different/new make-up.  They asked each of us what colour scheme we wanted and if we wanted to highlight eyes or lips and then kind of went to town on it.  Everyone was pleased with their make-up but you may want to consider bringing along some blotting papers to the reception since it is a long hot day so you may get a bit shiny.

Hi everyone!

I am getting SO excited! I will be getting Married at Now Jade in under 2 weeks! Ahhhhhh! We leave March 13th and our ceremony is on Saturday the 16th! I have been pretty laid back during this whole experience (don't get me wrong, I am still very detail oriented, simply not letting stress become a factor). I wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who posted questions and answers on this forum. You all really helped me to plan vs emailing the coordinator over and over...which can take FOREVER to get a satisfactory/clear response. So I really appreciate each and everyone of you!! I fully tend to pay it forward by coming back to this site and posting pictures and reviews for all of you future brides as I know its hard to envision the "Big Picture" and how it will all come together!

We are very fortunate to be the only ones wedding on the 16th! This way if I want to make last minute location changes I can.

As of right now we are getting married at the Pergola, cocktail hour and the Blue Bar, and reception of the Terrace. However, I may switch to the bamboo room---we shall see! We are traveling with 29 people. We went with the divine package. We forgoed the resort photographer and are bringing one of our own from the States. I am so glad I went this route! We are paying for her and her spouses/assistant's trip and in return we will have her all day for the wedding, a bonus day to photo any event of our choosing and full rights to all edited photos!

We are doing a combo religious/symbolic wedding and have written most of the script ourselves.

We have a wedding party of 2 bridesmaids and 3 groomsmen.

Currently I am trying to finish all the minor DIY projects! Hope it all runs smoothly!

We got married at the Pergola on Feb 9 of this year and yes it was windy.  I didn't really realize it until I watched the video and the tendrils of hair that I asked for down around my face were flying everywhere.  A veil could look beautiful but I would definitely look at some of those veil weights if you go that route.  I opted to just have a flower in my hair instead.

Hey ladies,

Getting married this Saturday at the Now Jade.  Originally leaving Wednesday but decided to move it up one day because of the potential snow storm in DC/Baltimore.

Weather looks fantastic and although I haven't heard from Pilar much, keeping my fingers crossed that everything will run smoothly.  Promise to write a detailed review and answer any questions upon my return.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
