We had our reception on the terrace on 2/2/13 (my review is awaiting moderation). We had 53 people at the reception - four rectangular tables. The dancing was definitely tight, but it didn't stop us from having a great time, and I would say almost every one of our guests was dancing at some point. The only real problem is that there is a slight step in the area where we were dancing. Knowing this now, I would still have it in the same spot, or maybe at Castaways, if that's an option.

If you don't mind being inside, I thought the Bamboo room was beautiful. I didn't look into any of the other locations because we really wanted to be outside.

Our ceremony is at 5pm and I'm wondering what time to schedule our appointments. I don't want to do it too early b/c I don't want my hair to fall out, but I also don't want to be pressed for time. I'd rather have more time to lounge around and sip on mimoas then to rush around getting ready :)

Our ceremony was at 5:00, and I got my hair and makeup done at 12:30 and then hung out with my bridesmaids while they got theirs done. So, I basically ended up with a half hour to spare before they came to my room at 4:00 to help with my dress. My hair did not fall out, and I was out until 2:00 AM, and it was a slightly windy day. Hope this helps!

Perfect thank you for the info! I keep thinking we should switch our reception location but I was so excited about being outdoors.... I haven't looked into the other locations so I think I should start doing that.

I strongly reccomend getting more photos on CD. With the full 1 day coverage ($999) we had over 900 pictures and it took my husband and I 4 hours to try and narrow down to 250 pictures. We had 100 included and had to pay $1/photo extra that we wanted. It may be a better option to try and get more pictures ahead of time because the last thing you want to do on vaccation is spend 4 hours looking at pics. Also the divine package counts at $300 credit towards adventure photos. The included photo book can only have 80 pictures....

I agree! I didn't know that having the divine package counts as $300 towards photos! That's great news. I'm pretty sure I'll be upgrading our photography to either full day ($999) or 3 hours ($799).... Although, I'm not looking forward to narrowing down 900+ photos!

Are the videos of poor quality?

You should look into Castaways. I believe it's half indoor/half outdoor.. Don't quote me. That's where I'm having mine but I'm not exactly sure of the set up :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
