OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi Ladies!

I have been reading trip advisor and noticed that the reviews for the Now Jade are just okay. When I first booked they were really good and they seem to be going downhill. It seems there is a lot of construction and the food is just ehh. I am becoming really concerned since I want my family and friends to enjoy their stay. Has anyone been there recently for a visit?

Thanks!!!

I will tell you that they were used twice (Mexico and our reception at home) so they may have a a few small tears/holes in them but honestly you wouldn't know once they are hanging up. I understand if you don't want to buy them though for that reason! I would take like $15 for them plus shipping. Let me know! :)

Hmmm, let me think about it. I found some on justartifact.com that were very reasonable. round $19 or so for 14 lanterns, different sizes for about $19 so I may just go that route since they are new and it's not much of a price difference. I'll let you know for sure if I end up changing my mind! ;-)

So I have another question. Is anyone else using Teresa from Vacations4less as a travel agent? So far I really have a good vibe from her she responds quickly and answers all of my questions thoroughly but I can't help but think sometimes people get used for their money. So the real question is, is Vacations4less completely legit to use for traveling?

Paranoia is setting in because I keep hearing stories of these destination weddings that start off great with planning and then at the last minute everything goes kaput!

Thanks ladies!

Honestly you have to take each negative review with a grain of salt. I have read other people say that the construction hasn't bothered them at all and they never even really noticed it while they were there. The food, in my opinion, was just like any other all inclusive. Some of the restaurants were good and others were so-so. I wouldn't let those 2 things make you worry about your trip!

We are using Teresa and she is super nice and patient. The contract is great, so I don't see problems on that end. As far as wedding planning goes, you do that directly with Pilar. Teresa doesn't have anything to do with it. You can relax. She knows what she is doing and just traveled to the NOW Jade in December or so, I believe!

Katie, I've been going back and forth with bringing the paper lanterns or not. I just can't decide. Did you have to bring any kind of fishing wire or something to hang them or did you just bring the lanterns and Pilar had all the supplies to hang? If I do decide to bring them, I'm not bringing doing any lights for them which I hear is just fine. They look pretty in your pictures, I'm just hesitant whether to spend the money on them or not. If you were doing it over again, would you still bring them? I'm also going to be in Castaways where you had your reception.
Katie, I'd love to see your pictures. We are having our reception at Castaways as well and are thinking about lanterns. I would love to see them "in action". Could you post a link please?

I LOVE TERESA!  I'd probably invite her to the wedding if it wasn't weird. There are so many friends and family members that have added stress and frustration to my wedding plans and Teresa is one of the few that has been a positive constant that I never had to worry about.   I first contacted Teresa in Jan 2012, signed our contract Mar 2012 after asking question after question, clarification ontop of clarification and posed every hypothetical scenario; I'm sure I was annoying.  Her friendly demeanor and responsiveness has never wavered.  And I've received great feedback from my guests who have booked thus far. Without question, one of my best wedding planning decisions.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
