Does any past brides have an example set up of their reception set up at Castaways (with round tables)? I found a cool seating chart option on wedding wire and I'm trying to play around but it's hard not having any clue how the room is set up!

Thanks mlite! I'm set on round tables though! I mentioned the rectangular ones to my mother in law and she shot me down pretty quick! lol ;)

I had my reception at Castaway, but I had one long table. How many people are you having? I only ask because where we had the dance floor was right in front of the bar and I think it would be cool to have people sitting on both sides for the reception, given that you have enough people to do that. I can upload some pics of my set up if you want.

I gave the guests 3 options: The beef and shrimp, scallops and mahi mahi, and pork medallions. I chose the shrimp and scallops in coconut milk as the appetizer and the lobster bisque but everyone got to pick their entree out of the three above.

Katie, some pictures would be fabulous! I've seen your review, but I can't remember if there are too many pictures of Castaways, well at least enough where I can actually see the lay out. I'm still uncertain of our exact amount but I'm thinking about 40 possibly more. Probably 5-7 round tables depending on the exact number of guest. Plus a sweetheart table for my FI and I, small cake table and small table for photos and guest book. I'm trying to visualize your idea of having people sit on both sides of the dance floor.. Would I have enough tables? I forgot there's already a bar in there, that's great!

I picked the same exact as you did, we'll I'm only giving 2 options, beef & shrimp and Scallops & Mahi mahi. But I also chose the shrimp and scallops in coconut milk and lobster bisque! The salad choices were not appealing to me at all so we went with an app! ;-)

How was the lobster bisque?

Did people like the beef and shrimp?

Those are the ones I chose too! :)

I forgot that the one side has this wall thing that might block people from seeing things if you have people on both sides of the dance floor:

This shows the bar which was directly behind where we had the dance floor along the back wall:

This shows that not the whole side is blocked by the tall wall thing:

Hope that helps give you a better idea of the setup!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
