Snoopy,

I've heard that as well. It's kind of like your still outside which is really nice. I know you can rent fans from the resort too but that's just one more cost that I don't need. I def like the idea of AC!!

My reception was at Castaways. It has a covered roof but the sides are open. I was worried it would be too hot but you get a nice breeze and it actually never bothered any of us. I don't think that you can go wrong with either location though!

Everything is absolutely beautiful!! I think you could rock an awesome pair of earrings and a bracelet. I don't think you will go wrong with anything you decide! :)

We bought the 4 hour package from him for $1500. This will cover getting ready, ceremony, cocktail hour (the wedding party will go off and do this while our other guests hang at the Mix bar) and then I think a bit of dinner, hopefully at least the first dances. Our ceremony is at 4, so he said he'll come around 3. I chose him because when I first started looking at pics of weddings here, his were coming up on google. Turned out, our travel agent knows him, as he is from Toronto, so she also recommended him. Once I emailed him, it was a done deal. He works with his wife, who is Mexican, and they seem fantastic! For some reason, his website isn't working,,but they have a Facebook page, so you can see tons of pics there!

The fire dancers are there once a week, I think Pilar told me....

Oooohhh okay. That's pretty reasonable. I was gonna go with the $1500 photo package anyways so that is very reasonable. I just haven't heard many great reviews on the resort photographer. So if you have a separate photographer, are there other fees to bring him to the resort??

We have a guest who is allergic to seafood so Pilar gave her the option of a chicken entree (the menu choices seemed to be based on what the ala carte restuarants have on their menu).  We also have 4 vegetarians so she sent the vegetarian menu which also has the gluten free options and I believe there was chicken listed there too.

It's under the gluten-free menu entrees.  I don't think it specifies Divine or Eternity.  The two choices for gluten-free are grouper and chicken (chicken breast stuffed with spinach and mushrooms).  The only reason I would offer chicken is because.. well, it's chicken, and people tend to like chicken.  I wouldn't offer it because it's gluten-free as I don't believe any on my guests are on that type of dietary restriction.  It's on page 25 of my wedding guide.  I can send it to you if you PM me your email address. :)

Hey all, so I had previously emailed Pilar about this, and she sent me the attached photo.  She said that she could do this for $450 plus tax.  Well after navigating the internet, I fount similar beads (4 would need to be purchased for the Pergola) on the internet.  I think the curtain may be a bit "heavier" in look but I am going to proceed anyway.  I think the total cost comes to roughly $200-  I am pretty sure that I am going to be purchasing these in the next couple days.  If there any brides out there that may want to share them, send me a PM let me know!

Pilar said that the charge you a guest pass fee for each photographer, and also keep in mind that more than likely you will need to feed them as well.  Full bellies take better pictures I'm sure!

Oh I see it now. Thanks! I completely bypassed through the vegetarian & gluten-free options. It's such a tough decision because most people do like chicken. I wish there were food reviews on here.

My wedding is in 3 weeks and I am not getting any response from Pilar. Hoping that you gals can help me out. Can we use American dollars or do we need to convert our money over to pesos? We plan to do some shopping in Playa Del Carmen and excursions, do you think they will take American dollars too?

Thanks!

Jenn

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
