This may be silly but I can not figure out how to send Pilar back the credit card authorization for she sent me !!! Its in PDF format so i cannot just type in it.. I printed it out but how can i send it back to her? i hope im not the only one with this problem! lol Also, the packages arent so expensive, were doing the divine package but, with all the extra addings i think this will all add up very quickly! Does anyone know or have a suggestion on how much the final costs usually are? Like after centerpieces and more flowers, dj etc? Any suggestions will help. Thanks!

Congratulations!  I printed out the form, filled it out, then I scanned it and sent it back to them.  If you don't have that capability, you may want to contact Pilar and see if she can send it in another format; or possibly fax it to them?

I haven't gotten an invoice from the resort yet, so I can't say how much everything will cost.  I have added a DJ to my package, and I am going to see about my photographer soon.  I also have additional guests that will be added, but that's about it, I think.  I'm bringing flowers and decorations, so that won't be a problem.  The only thing I may be charged for is for the setup.  I'm sure someone has something they can send to you. :)  Happy planning!

I just got my final quote - and here is how the taxes broke out...

For the packacge price of $2999 - taxes of 297.20 were already included.

The 11% tax was added to the decorations, chairs, sound system, boquets and additional photography package.

The 15% service charge and 11% tax was added to the extra hors d'ouvres, extra meals, champagne toast, and cake.

No tax or service charge was charged on the extra hour extension, room drops or candles.

I hope this helps :)

Thank you.  Perfect!

We are also doing the pergola, i have 7 bridesmaids. We decided that the front 2 rows of seating will be reserved for them, and once they walk down the aisle, they go right to a seat. We are having only our MOH and BM stand up during the ceremony. They all seemed fine with that, it was actually suggested by a bridesmaid! We just think it will look silly with 14 attendants standing and only 20 seated guests, ya know?

KHunt,

Thanks so much! That's great advice. I didn't even think about how silly that would look. That's a great idea.

No apologies for the questions! That's what the forum is for, I have learned so much on her, it's crazy!

1 . The resort photog is Adventure Photos. Not sure about Del Sol pricing because we went with Photos in Cancun (Derek Campbell)

2 . We got a quote from Pilar for the fire dancers, I can't remember exactly, will double check in my email, but it was close to $600 for a 45 minute session! She suggested we wait, and plan a welcome dinner on the night where the fire dancers come in already- I guess they have a weekly calendar they provide upon check- in. Too bad, my FI really wanted them, but adjust couldnt justify the cost. Let me double check my email, I will repost

3 . The floor rental is for a beach reception I think?

KHunt,

You rock. Thanks for all the advice. What is the pricing with "PHOTOS IN CANCUN"? Is it less expensive than the resort or did you just like his work better? Regarding the fire dancers, are they regularly at the resort? If they will already be there, I'm not gonna pay the extra cost but I def want my guests to enjoy them. Thanks for the info on the dance floor. That was super confusing to me.

Maybe I'm biased because I chose the pergola and bamboo room but....this is why. I read on here that the beach can be very windy and the water is very loud, so we decided pergola. Plus, I really just like the look of the pergola. We went with the bamboo rom bc I read that castaways has an open ceiling and, what if it rains? Plus, the bamboo room is air conditioned, and I want my guests to be comfortable and dance! I think the beach is beautiful though, and I've seen reception pics in castaways, which are also fantastic, so it's a hard decision....

I am definitely going with the Pergola. I'm still a bit confused about castways vs bamboo room, but AC is a huge factor!!

Snoopy,

I've heard that as well. It's kind of like your still outside which is really nice. I know you can rent fans from the resort too but that's just one more cost that I don't need. I def like the idea of AC!!

However, can we have a detailed list of every song we want played during the reception (dinner and dancing?)  I know on the spreadsheet it only ask for favorite type of music and songs not to play, and of course the special songs like first dance, etc. so I'm just wondering if I can make a spreadsheet of the exact songs/artist we want played through the evening. I would send this ahead of time so the DJ can take a look at it & make sure he has the songs. We like such a variety of music and I just want to make sure everything we like is played.

I am using the resort DJ and only sent him a spreadsheet with my entire playlist and he said it was absolutely fine! I just included in the email all the info for wedding party and songs not to play. Hope that helps :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
