Hoping one of you ladies can help me. Sorry if it's been answered but I can't find it. Concerning the resort DJ, I do have the DJ for Pilar sent me. However, can we have a detailed list of every song we want played during the reception (dinner and dancing?)  I know on the spreadsheet it only ask for favorite type of music and songs not to play, and of course the special songs like first dance, etc. so I'm just wondering if I can make a spreadsheet of the exact songs/artist we want played through the evening. I would send this ahead of time so the DJ can take a look at it & make sure he has the songs. We like such a variety of music and I just want to make sure everything we like is played.

I'm pretty sure you can include a list of songs you want (ie your own playlist) for the DJ to play.  I would put a note on the section where it asks for music you like to see the attached playlist.  It shouldn't be a problem for them to do that.  You can have them play it in a specific order or at random.  My DJ was very helpful with any questions I had, so you can probably email them directly and find out if you need to do something specific.  Hope that helps!

Thank You! Did you use the resort DJ? If so, did you get the email address from Pilar? Did you just bring a list of songs or did you have to bring the actual songs like on your ipod or something?

I'm not doing a TTD session, but the cenote is really popular.  Some girls had it done on the resort beach, but away from other guests.  It's all what you prefer.  Ask your photographer if they have any suggestions since they should know the area really well if they're based in or around Cancun. :)

I just inquired prices from adventure photos. I asked how much full day coverage video and full 1 day photo coverage would be. He quotes me $1925. We have the divine package already, so I feel like that is a little high. Of course I told him we booked the divine package. Do you think it would be cheaper to go through Pilar? We simply don't have an additional 2k in our budget...

I used the resort DJ (DJ Doremixx, specifically, by request) who I booked through the resort (Deisy).  Deisy booked it for me and sent me a confirmation email saying they were available and booked for my reception.  I don't know who you have for your DJ, but you should be able to contact them through their website.  I filled out the form I was given (and kept it to go over it with them a few weeks before our wedding) and I put songs that I really want them to play (to make sure they had them) and songs that I absolutely did NOT want them to play.  They were very friendly and I had no problems with that.  I didn't get into a lot of specifics, though, because they got great reviews from other brides, so I trust them.  I did, however, put what type of music I wanted playing during dinner, but that's about it.  The rest I left up to them.. as long as we can dance, I'll be happy. :)

Has anyone had experience using these crystal curtains on the pergola at now jade?  I'd really like to use it as decorations for my wedding ceremony, but would prefer not to bring this with me on the flight.  Does anyone know if they sell this locally in the area or if Now Jade has something like this and what they charge?   If not either, does anyone know where I could get these online (hopefully it wouldn't take up much space).

Figured I'd ask here to see if any of the former or current brides know before checking with Pilar.  Here are two photos of what I'm describing.  Thanks!

The basic cake (with the free your moments package) was delicious!!! nothing amazing to look at, but really tasty. AND IT FED ALL 40 of our guests!! Okay, well maybe 35 since not everyone wanted cake. How did we do this?!? My hubby just started cutting the cake himself after I smashed his slice into his face! The cake guy just stood there and watched helplessly as Dave just kept cutting it!! They would've only cut it into 10 or so HUGE pieces, but this way, everyone got some and it wasn't overkill! Woops I guess we just kinda took over!!! lol!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
