But like the Bamboo room aswell. Does the bamboo room have an outdoor area? Also I probably will have 50 to 60 guests which room would be better for that amount of ppl. Iam also concerned with dance floor room i definately want a nice space for dancing. From other reviews Terrace dancefloor is small. i havent seen it!! Feedback please I don't see Many pictures of the Terrace! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

I haven't seen in person yet either, but from some of the reviews I've read, I think the terrace may be kind of small for 50-60 people. I think the Bamboo room is indoors completely, but I could definitely be wrong! I am booked for Castways, which I believe is indoor and outdoor. You might want to check that location. Good Luck, you'll find TONS of information on BDW!

I haven't seen either, but I do think the terrace will be a little small for 50-60 people.   The bamboo room is indoors, yes.  I chose the bamboo room, but I'm having only around 40 people and I'm getting married in November. :)  Hopefully one of the past brides can help you out.  If not, try checking into the reviews of the resort on this site... some of them have been very helpful.  Also, check the first few pages of this thread and there are some reviews and pictures of real weddings there.  Hope that helps!

I was planning on setting up a large square table (possibly elevated) for FI and I, as well as the BM's and GM's.  Directly in front of us are the doors to inside, and space for the dance floor.  Off to the left and right of us will be two long tables with the guests.  They only offer square tables, not round, so in theory this should work.  In front of the doors is more space, making it my suggestion for the dance floor.

You are lucky to be able to visit in January! When you get back, can you let me know what you see and find out? I would really appreciate it!!  Unfortunately, I have to rely on pictures (which I wish there were more of) and BDW:) I was thinking of the same layout as you described for the "head tables" but I am not sure if they will be able to elevate them or not. I like the idea of having the tables set up like that! I was thinking that I wanted my guests to be closer together though, which is why I was wondering if the head table can be set up to the side and have the guests tables set up essentially across the front by where the dance floor will be. I am sooo curious to see the size of the area for dancing!! It's funny, because when I asked Pilar to send me some pictures of the terrace set up for a reception, she sent me a pic with round tables. I wonder if you can get round tables then?

I guess I am going to send Pilar the pics of what I want, as I am not even good with flowers to know their names, I just know what I think looks good, lol:) So far, emails with Marvin from Maya Floral are not going very well. He was quick to respond initially, but has not responded to my past 2 emails. I also emailed Vanessa Jaimes, but still no response, so I guess I will try Pilar now. I would use real touch, but I'm not creative to put the things together, and I have not seen much online that would do it for me. I really want the centerpieces with the limes in it, which means that I need to get them down there. I am also not crazy about taking vases to Mexico with us, lol. I'm sure something will work itself out, we have just about one year exactly until the big daycheer2.gif

If you want an outdoor reception but think the terrace will be too small you can have it at Castaways. It is outdoors but has a roof. My reception was booked for the terrace but due to possible rain they switched it to castaways. The space is plenty big and has a seperated space for the dance floor! Either way though you can't go wrong...all of the reception options are nice!

We booked the carnival terrace but now I'm wondering if we should have chose castaways. Any recommendations or thoughts on either one? I'm not even sure if we could change it, but if we are it should be soon!! I'm thinking of the change as there is a more defined space, especially for dancing.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
