Did you use a DJ through the resort, I know the pkg does not include this anymore?  Do you mind sharing how much the cost was for that?

Thanks!

Anyone know what I could use in place of the airport transfer? Pilar said I could give it to another family member, but everyone has the transfer included in the price of their trip.

I'm picky about my hair and make up as well! I really need to do a hair trial so it may be worth it to just pay for it. Anyone know how much it is for the hair trial? As for my make up, I'm thinking I'll do my own foundation and stuff, but just have them do my eye make up since I'm terrible at that part!

Pilar quoted me to do a trial run it will be $49 USD for makeup and $59 USD for hair. It seems the pricing is inconsistent. Some people are getting it for free and some are being told it's extra. :(

I am also wondering if I will do my own make up or have one my girls do it, or just have it done with the package. I worry that I will hate it (I always end up taking stuff off when I get home after having my makeup professionally done...) so I really want a trial. I also wonder what brand(s) they use at the resort spa, will my own makeup be better in the long run? I'm not worried about hair as much, I just want it wavy/curls half-up and probably bringing my own hairspray so that should be simple enough. Just another one of the many extra things to think about with a destination wedding!

Is anyone getting married between Nov 3rd - 17th? Ours is booked for the 10th and I feel so unorganized  We picked the pergola for the ceremony but the weather looks like it has been rainy/gloomy lately but I was told November is one of the best months to go. Also I'm taking a suitcase of vases, floating candles, and paper lanterns, does anyone know if that's okay to take over the border? I read somewhere that they charge you duty on everything. Anyyyy information is helpful :)

I'm getting married November 16th.  I felt like I was all over the place, but it got much better.  There's still a lot to do but I don't feel so overwhelmed. :)  We picked the beach ceremony and bamboo room for the reception.  I'm hoping that the weather holds up, but I'm not stressing about it.  It's going to be amazing regardless. I'm bringing my own decorations, too, and as long as you have the receipts, I believe you won't have any problems with explaining to them why you're bringing them with you.  I believe that as long as you are under $300 per person on goods you will be fine on the duties, which is why you need receipts, but make sure you look into it.    Congratulations! :)

do you know what happens when you have more then 300$ worth of goods with you? Also, what if you don't have receipts for everything?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
