I've heard two things - 1) you can meet them outside and then you won't get charged the fee. 2) it's a 300 fee. I got a quote from Pilar on centrepieces and they will be $300 and something through the resort, they are $85 through the florist!! www.FloreriaRiviera.com

If anyone has gone through this florist, please let me know your feedback!!

Thanks,

Nicole

I just checked out their site, look at their suggestion for dealing with the hotel: ** Please notice your wedding venue hotel may charge a fee for outside vendors. In some cases the hotels are more flexible, if you mention the wedding flowers are arranged through a family member (as a gift).

Might work?

If you don't mind me asking Who are you using?? and is there a fee that the resort charges you??

That's true... we won't get any free rooms. But the quotes we got were $2200 and up per person with a group rate, which is so much more than what I am finding online. We were willing to give up the 3 free rooms to save each guest $600+. Also, we figured our guests just wouldn't use the group rate unless it was at least comparable to what they could get online, which would mean we still wouldn't get the free rooms.

If yes, then they put like 8 cans which cost $350 together and it gives a special lighting effect. You just have to tell Pilar/Deisy. We are doing pink :)

Awesome! Thanks!

Hmmm thats interesting! We booked with Transat and they are offering the sixth room free, however they are only giving us the cost of one person per room. We paid 1550 per person and will get $1134 for every sixth room ( prices less the taxes). There are so many different prices and deals!!

What prices are you ladies getting for the prefered club room? If you are choosing this option.

I have a few questions, I have contacted two travel agents one through travel 4 less and was quoted $122 per person per night. Then quoted from liberty travel at $386 per person for 5 nights which comes out to $772 per couple for 5 nights which I think is amazing. Has anyone here used liberty travel??

Another question, my fiancé and I are thinking of bringing down a friend of ours to be the photographer. What is an estimate quote for an outside photographer for the entire wedding day?

Thanks ladies!!!!

I believe if your photographer is a guest you dont have to pay a fee. Only if your friend is not staying at the hotel.

I saw this from another poster, months ago- worth a shot?  I might email her as well to see if she's still doing it. I think the Alex person this bride is referring to was a phoographer or something...

"Alex also recommended a friend of her's who is also a florist to do our flowers, Juliana. The prices for flowers at the resort is outrageous, so I began emailing Juliana some pics of what I wanted & she said she could do it. Juliana is based out of Cancun but will travel to surrounding areas (Playa del Carmen, Puerto Morelos)  to do your wedding. When I arrived at NOW Jade, Juliana came to meet us - she brought samples of the flowers she had in the colors I wanted (coral, white and green). She was very professional and did a beautiful job on the flowers for a very low price. 10 boutenierres, 3 wrist corsages, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 1 bridal bouquet and 2 centerpieces and the rental of 9 vases and a basket for only $200 USD!!  NOW Jade wanted $65 for one bridesmaid bouquet?! In the end we saved close to $800 using Juliana and the flowers were so beautiful, my bridesmaids are still talking about them!! :)  NOW Jade's florist did not like that we ventured out to get our own florist, but there is no clause saying you can't. Also, when I told Pilar the price she said "I don't blame you". Perhaps now, NOW Jade will re-evaluate their prices for flowers. Highly recommend Juliana:  floreria_paraiso@hotmail.com"

Wow that sounds like a much better deal. I have quite a few in the wedding party and centerpieces also. Have you asked Pilar about the vendor fee for this? Can you just accept it as a delivery? Will you let me know if you hear anything back from her?

Thanks xo

I think the Divine pkg includes an upgrade to Preferred, right?  my MOH looked into upgrading and it was something crazy like another $600 or something. Not worth it!

We negotiated (from our travel agent):

Every 6th room free (to a maximum of 3 free rooms) –  this includes 2 adults – who have to book full package (based on the lowest room category booked at Double Occupancy).  It includes: free flight from Toronto to Cancun and hotel.  They will only have to pay the taxes and the add-on connector flight should they fly from elsewhere.

So, it would look something like this – again – these amounts are only an approximation as I will not receive confirmation from Air Canada until we are quite close to the final payment deadline:

Per free room - $1625.62 - $313 (taxes – they are higher than Sunquest) = $1312.62 x 2 people = $2625.24 per room (maximum 3 free rooms).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!

I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
