Our wedding is scheduled for April 14th, 2013. Who is your travel agent? We might want to give them a call at those rates since we are looking at the same time-frame. wink.gif

I read somewhere in the following thread:

http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/57821/the-now-riviera-cancun/2270

That the buffet is an option if you have 50 or more guest and there was no additional fee for the buffet.  You would just pay whatever your package price is per extra person.

If you go to the 1st page of this thread and search for "buffet" it will direct you to the page where I got this info.

Hope this helps! :)

Thanks so much! This is definately something we are looking to add. Has anyone else cut out their cocktail hour due to a high number of guests. Originally we were expecting 60 but it now looks like we are close to 86. Wheew. I cannot afford to pay $20/person for champaign and hore d'ovres. This wedding is adding up very quickly!

We don't have to cut our cocktail hour (37 guests coming, and 8 in wedding party plus family members that will be pulled out for some photos so I'm not too concerned about amount of food) but just FYI have you considered using the cocktail hour at another point during your trip? Maybe for your rehearsal night since you could have a smaller crowd?  Just a thought??

I think the reason that my rates are slightly cheaper is that I booked so early that 2013 rates had nnot been released and I was able to lock in 2012

Agreed.  My rate are the same as yours and I secured my 2012 group rates in April.  I think the 2013 rates published in Mid-May or June

Hola Susannah,

I think the nearest spot is Xcaret. You normally need to book in advance with Delphinusand they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

Ask about their couples program!!

Best wishes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
