OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Just wondering if anyone has some additional information they could share! My dad is in a wheelchair and although we know the resort is accessible (as per their website), I'm wondering if anyone has anything they can comment on, or tips they could provide? We are reserving an accessible room but I think my parents are a little nervous and I'd like to calm their fears if possible. Any pictures or reviews from people who had guests with mobility issues would be GREATLY appreciated either in the thread or by private message!

Interesting, I have never heard her use the word "credits" in any of our correspondences when discussing the option of swapping out items.  Does anyone else have experience with credits or the value of items ot used that could be applied to something else?

I would stick with having the videographer since it is included in the package.  They did an awesome job and it was so great being able to relive that day once things have settled down!

It is not considered credits....everything has a price tag and if you don't use it they MAY credit you back the money or apply it to something else added.  I hope this clarifies things a little.

This is what I assumed. It was just interesting that Pilar actaully provide a price for not using an item that coul be applied towards something else. Every inquiry I have ever made I get a stock reply of "if you don't use it, you lose it". Maybe I lack tack in my inquires. I just wish her course in dealing with brides was consistant. It's just a bit frustrating not really understanding how things will play out financially until the my wedding day actually arrives.

Yes I completely agree.  I think they don't want to be held responsible in writing over e-mail but are much more lenient in person once you arrive and have your meeting.

Hi Kelsey!

Do you know if a credit is offered if you do not use the photographer either?

I received a credit of either $150 or $155 for not using the photographer. I didn't know that I would receive this until she showed me the final bill once we were there. She never told me this in emails...she usually is pretty short in her emails just because she is so busy. She tells your prices of things in emails but she doesn't seem to charge for some of the extras once you are there. She also made it seem like she doesn't do it that often but from other brides I have talked to it seems she does. Hope this helps! :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
