I brought all the petals with me.  I had ordered them from a website and to be honest I have no idea which one it was.  But I ordered A LOT of them.  Buy more than you think you need if using for decorating.  Just google "rose petals" and there will be a bunch of sites that pop up :)

I wouldn't say it is necessary. The only thing that I had for the cocktail hour were paper straws with flags with our initials and the wedding date.

Wow! What a great deal! Thank you! Are you going to bring some down for table decor as well?

Can any brides share if they had any form of entertainment at their reception? I know someone earlier on the thread had fire dancers... is anyone else thinking of doing anything unique? My FI and I were contemplating fireworks but the prices seem quite high for the length of show. Not sure if its in the budget quite yet..

We are booked for Castaways for our reception and we are paying for the extra hour. Has anyone else done this and will they kick us out of the restaurant right at 11:00?

I had my reception at Castaways. I don't really remember this but apparently as soon as the reception was over they were kicking us. My brother in law had asked for some water as the reception was winding down and the waiter or manager or whoever told him no and refused to get him a drink. Like I said, I don't remember this and my brother in law can be a little dramatic, but I do think that they were basically kicked us out once the last song was played.

we had fireworks and it was worth every penny, everyone was so happy and surprised!! It really was beautiful!! The fire dancers they have a show every week, so depending on which day your wedding is, your guests might have already seen it.. I dont have pics of the fireworks now..will post when I get it:)

Oh btw, after u get the basic package for the fireworks..the add ons for cold fireworks at the ceremony are super cheap because you dont have to pay for the permits again...we had 6 cold ones when we kissed at ceremony..its really pretty!!:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
