OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Thanks so much for the heads up! If that is the case that is SO cheap so we might as well consider an outside photog...Especially if they are only including an hour. I wonder if Pilar will let us trade our sweedish massages for extra photos....hmmmm..

I am not sure if it is only an hour but I'm pretty sure that it isn't a full day. Also, they say they charge $55 for a day pass but my photographer came for the wedding and the next day for our trash the dress and I wasn't charged for either day. I highly recommend looking at outside photographers.

clarifications, photographers are not considered vendors so you only need to pay the $55 (maybe $60) day pass for them to be onsite.

Oh great! I did not know that. Thank you!

I am in the process of booking my 2013 wedding at NOW Jade!! So exciting! Can someone please tell me how much time is included with the photographer in the Divine package. Do they come while getting ready and stay until the reception or is that extra? THANKS!
I just got a quote to add to the divine pkg. it is about 700 more for full day coverage (getting ready, ceremony, pics and reception). They take great photos, and compared to the 20 other quotes I received are much more fairly priced. I am sticking with adventure.

I asked Pilar in my last email but she just said she would copy the photographer on the email and I still have not heard from him (these people take so long to answer emails) My wedding is in Jan 2013 and I would love to know if I should be sourcing out another photographer. Also, does anyone know what the fee is to bring a photographer onto the resort. Thanks in advance!

The photos included in the package price are only around an hour or so worth I believe, but you can buy additional time.  A previous bride on here said they charged her about $100/hr (which is cheaper than the website pricing) since she was already using them as part of the Now Jade wedding package.  Similarly you get around 25 photos included in the wedding package but you can purchase more, again for cheaper than the pricing listed online.

If you go back towards the start of this thread you can see how it is broken down by specific area - check out photography and I think you will find the bride's review there.

Pilar does allow some substitutions but it seems to vary, from what she said during the webinair this past spring they allow you to swap out items for similar items...so if you didn't want hair and make-up they would like allow you to trade for another spa service (I think the idea is to keep the money/credit to the specific department), that being said there have been exceptions to the rule.

My thinking is bonus if they will allow a trade but don't necessarily plan (or budget) on it.

That's great to know Lindsay! You saved me some research! I will also be sticking with Adventure as my budget is a bit tight. Things sure do add up!

I just had my wedding on 21 July!! Pilar and her team was awesome, they are so much more flexible with swapping stuff when you get there. They replicated the flowers I wanted exactly like the picture I gave them. The canopy was set up to exactly what I have visioned. We only talked about it and drew pictures of it at the meeting. Dalel was perfect!! She did such a wonderful job and even went out of her way to help me with certain stuff..room problems with guests,etc..We only booked the Governor Suite(beautiful view and huge!) for 2 days, and they ended up giving it to me with no extra charge for the rest of our stay. Very sweet of them as it is such a pain to switch rooms when you have so much wedding stuff. Also maybe the hotel was 100% full. lol.

The lanterns was 10 for $20. I only wanted it after I saw another bride with her lanterns set up..:) very pretty.

I also went with Delsol for photos. Day passes for Sol and Deborah. but I believe they forgot to charge me for that, so I'm not complaining.

I cannot wait to see my pics from them, I had such a wonderful time with Delsol photographers and they were so fun yet very professional..I will post pics and review once I can find the time!!!:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
