OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Hi There,

Our wedding is May 25, 2013, ceremony 4pm pergola, cocktail hour 5pm Blue Bar, and dinner 6pm in the Bamboo Room. We asked Pilar to shift everything up one hour at our photographer`s recommendation but Pilar wouldn`t allow it, unless we agreed to change all of our locations, due to some kind of conflict.  I was surprised b/c I thought they only did 2 ceremonies/day-- when we originally booked, she optioned us either 1pm or 4pm ceremony time only.   Bummer, but we don't want to give up our chosen locations so we're keeping it as is.

Hey There,

Pilar gave us three options.  We chose the beef filet, the mahi mahi, and the vegetarian option....I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure three is fine- and almost customary these days, isn't it?  I shouldn't say anything I guess, since our wedding isn't until next year- but at this point, she's given us 3 options...that may change?

Thanks!

I gave my guests 3 choices.  Beef filet, Tuna steak, a vegetarian dish (pasta with vegetables). You should be fine.

I originally asked for the Garden - which Pilar has just recently told me is not available the week I am there (April 27th - May 2nd). She could not confirm why, but said that the Groups Department has it blocked off... She said she won't know what is going on until closer to the date...

My questions for someone is about switching the reception location. I have the Bamboo Room booked. I do not know exactly how many people will be coming to the wedding (a lot of people have said that they MAY be coming and haven't booked yet). If I do not have many guests coming I would prefer to have my reception on the Ocean Front Terrace. Otherwise I am fine in the Bamboo Room. Pilar explained "it is not possible to block both areas because we do 2 weddings per date plus one renewal of vows". Has anyone heard about two weddings happening at the same time? Ie. One in the Bamboo Room and one on the Ocean Front Terrace???

Almost every day when we were down there they had 2 weddings going on. They can have one in the bamboo room and one on the terrace. Mine was supposed to be on the terrace and I believe the other wedding that day was in the bamboo room. You most likely won't notice...I never once saw the other wedding that day. As long as the other person isn't having theres are the terrace you could probably change it last minute if you want. You will just have to take the chance that you can't change it.

Does the resort have any rules against fake flower petals for the aisle?  To go thru the resort is ridiculously pricey (like $100 for a petal covered aisle) but I found a vendor on ebay that does 1000 pcs for $4.29 (and free shipping too!) but before I order I wanted to see if any other brides have had problems bringing silk petals? Thanks ladies!

I'm pretty sure (don't quote me on this) but I'm pretty sure it has to be dry freeze petals. I've seen a website called http://petalgarden.com/ that seem to have some good deals.

Thanks!

I was worried since everyone is talking about Pilar..I haven't heard anyone mention Deisy. I met with her, she is super nice. Just wanted to see if anyone had her plan the wedding.

Was she with you all day of the wedding?

Thanks - I took a look at the website you gave...next question, anyone know approx. how long the aisle would be for the pergola setting?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
