To brides that have already been married at the resort: So I sent my Save the Dates and it looks like I will have about 10-12 guests that will not be staying at the resort. Has anyone had the same situation. I know Pilar said that an all day pass is $110 but there is also a 1/2 day pass. Did they allow your guests to come for the ceremony and reception? Did your guest pay the pass when they arrived at the resort? Did you pay it? How did it work? Any good/bad experiences? Thank you! Just worried about it... [/quote By the way, congratulations!! And I just realized we are a week apart!!!

I don't know the answer, but Just a quick comment/word of caution... I don't know what your total guest count is, but when I asked Pilar if there was any limitations to the number of outside guests, she told me that 80% percent of my total guest count had to stay at the resort. I don't know how set in stone this requirement is but it's something to keep in mind if you expect less than 50 or 60 guests.

I am soo un-creative.

Perhaps just printing it in a large picture frame and having it on a table would be a good idea.  The resort can easily set up a little table with a table cloth.  You could also then place your programs on that table.

Hi fellow brides!

I am trying to book my dates (most likely at the Now Jade) for June 2013, but since I know it's a busy time, I'm considering a weekday wedding instead of a weekend.  That is in the hopes that there aren't as many weddings going on at the same time and that service itself isn't slower.  Has anyone else had a weekday wedding?  And if so, can you please tell me your experience?

Thanks!

Thank you for the ideas! I'll have to try and get creative and figure out which kind of sign to bring down!

Has anyone had fire dancers before. I am not much of a "dancer" so I was thinking fire dancers could be a possible replacement for a dance. I wonder if NOW Jade allows fire dancers? Has anyone looked into something like that or had them at your wedding. Or any other form of entertainment then a dance.

I had mine on Friday and it turned out great! When you are away every day feels like a weekend! I would suggest getting married either on a thursday or friday for the people who don't want to take many work days.  We had ours on Friday so it worked out perfect.  Some people made a long weekend out of it but didn't need to take the whole week off. Seeing as it is a destination wedding people are going to have to take extra days off regardless so its not like a wedding back at home.  Just a heads up....June is definately a high season for weddings but just remember there is a lot of rain in June! It rained on my wedding day but everything still turned out beautiful! Good luck!

They do have a fire dance show on the resort once a week.  You can also hire them for your wedding.  I did not have them but I know of one other bride that did.  I believe it was between $800-$1000. Sounds cool!

I had mine on a Thursday. When you are on vacation I don't think it really matters what day of the week it is! :)  Honestly, every day that we were there they had 2 weddings a day. You most likely will have someone else getting married the same day as you but you probably won't even notice it. I never once saw the other couple on our wedding day and I didn't feel like they were rushing my wedding or doing anything that made me feel like my wedding wasn't the only one going on that day. I can only speak for myself and my experience but I don't think knowing there was another wedding that day took away from mine.

Ditto to what KitKat said.  They say they do max 2 weddings a day but I saw three at one point (can't remember which day it was).    Mine was on a Wednesday.  I've gone to 3 destination weddings (not including my own) and one coming up in October....all of them were on a Thursday!  So I guess that must be a pretty popular day.  Honestly, pick whatever day works for you.  Maybe there is a date with more meaning for you both, or just a date you will always remember (since it will be your anniversary!)   People have to come down for at least a few days since they are flying all the way to Mexico.  Unless you are scheduling around a holiday, the actual day may not make much of a difference.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
