Hi Cortney,

 

We are going for the Eternity package next April.  For us, we wanted to include a sit down dinner at the very least -you are right, they are coming a long way to see you tie the knot, so I think it's nice to have a special/private dinner :)

So far this package is working well for us, includes a lot of the things we want (ie. hair, makeup, dinner, photos, etc).  I guess it depends on what you find most important though as to whether you get the best value out of it.  In the wedding guide, you can see the costs of not going with a package and just adding on things that you want.  It adds up pretty quickly but that approach might work for you too.

We were in the same boat as you. Started out with the Your Moments Package. We are only having about 18 guests and wanted to keep things small and intimate.  We decided to do the ceremony, then a 3 hour cocktail reception (with hors d'ouvres and using our ipod for music) and then a reservation in one of the restaurants for dinner.  This seemed a more relaxed way to go with a smaller group rather than the normal dinner reception with DJ, etc.  We still have that plan but upgraded to the Eternity package.  It ended up saving us a little money and we got a few extras like a couples massage and bridal hair/makeup.  I would price out all your options.  We upgraded to the Eternity package about a month ago...so you can always upgrade at a later date.  Happy planning!!!!

My Fi and I selected the Eternity package for our +/- 25 guests and we think this will be perfect for us.  We didn't see any benefit (for us personally) in the higher level package.  We will be adding a bit of decor, but this will all be furnished by us and I have spoken to Pialr and the set-up fees will be minimal.

Just wondering if you have a quote from Pilar on how much the set-up fee is for items/decor you bring from home?  Some resorts charge like crazy for this. I am hoping that is not the case with Now Jade!  Thanks!

cortneyadam - I am doing the divine package and only have about 17 people coming to the wedding. I do worry that it might be weird having a regular dinner reception with a small amount of people but I think for us it will be worth it and makes sense. Plus I have been able to switch things out that I don't need or want and add things in at no extra cost. We are also having a reception back home (at my parents request!) I have about 6 weeks left so I will give a review and let you know if I should have gone with a different package! :)

I am only being charged $65 USD which includes ironing and tying my satin chair sashes for the ceremony and reception ($1/sash), and hanging my paper lanterns ($40 USD) for 30-40 lanterns.  When I sent my inquiry for these items I also asked for the set-up fee for ceremony decor (fans, programs, sand ceremony), my specific reception table set-up (cylinder glass floating candle centerpieces, votive candles, maracas, table runners) and a few receptions items (framed signage, guestbook and pens).  Per her email, this will all be set-up complimentary.  I have a few additional items that I have yet to mention. But I wouldn't be surprised if she adds a fee for these, since it will become more labor intensive. Either way, as long as my set-up fees stay under $100, I'll be happy. With all my DIY projects and scoping out best deals, I'm saving a lot more money than if i were to get these items direct from the resort or another vendor.

Keep in mind that I will only have +/- 25 guests.  Since prices for setting-up bride/groom furnished items isn't published anywhere, I could see some variation from one bridal couple to another.  For instance if your total guest count is 100 people, I can see them charging for special ceremony or reception table set-up.  All you can do is ask.
