I was dreaming if a GPL wedding but bc I have family members in Jamaica, that needed to attend the wedding it would've cost me too much for off property guest. I also wanted an outsude photographer, deco and again that would in occur a vendor fee.I visited GPL this year and it took my breath away. I'm trying to remember the name of the reception restaurant I had choose, it is so beautiful. It's over looking the pool, the ocean and the pillars is an addition. I was working with Nickisha the wedding planner. I'm sad that I had to find another venue but any bride will be happy with GPH.. The ceremony location will need a lot of deco to light the location up. The hotel is beautiful, wish they had spent the same amount of time on the ceremony location. They need a bit of work in my opinion.

Hi there,

Im getting married this October at Lady Hamilton and have chosen the Island Pearl Package! Its working out more expensive than what we first thought! An additional $20 for each guest (8 guests only included in package price) thats just for the chair at ceremony, cake and and glass of champagne i was told by my WC Erika. Its taken a week or two to get back with replying to emails but know they are very relaxed out there and in no rush lol! So thank god for this website to get some re assurance!

As we booked Island Pearl package which is white and pink accents, I was told by the travel agent we booked through (Thompsons) that we could change and add things no problem, after paying and booking flights etc Erika told me that we cannot change colours etc its only whats included in package, so I have asked her if its ok to bring our own stuff over ie orange and pink petals for on beach (pink and orange being our colour theme), table decor for tables at reception but do not know if a centre piece is included in the package? she hasnt got back to me yet. I said to her as we're going for oraneg and pink, i'd prefer pink napkins on the table (as this is included in package) she said thats fine but as we have 33 guests an extra $3 per napkin is charged on top?! i think this is ridiculous, so am thinking of taking things like that myself as everything is slowly adding up! anyone else doing the same?

We have chosen the Blue Lagoon for our reception meal so are also paying anything from $45 - $70 per head but have been  told by Erika if you choose say for instance within $45 per head price bracket you can swap things over from menus to suit you, which is good! I really thought I prefered the Posiedon restaurant which overlooks the quieter beach and is much more quiet and romantic (i think) but my fiance prefered blue lagoon as theres much more space for dancing etc, the only thing which puts me off is that its a lovely venue for reception too overlooking pool and beach BUT a couple of years ago when we first went to the resort we saw a wedidng reception here and the only thing seperating them from us in the italian restuarant was a white sheet, which i think can spoil it. At least with the Posiedon restaurant it is closed off just for the wedding party! I think we will still go for blue lagoon dispite this and i have asked Erika if its a sheet that will seperate us from other guests but have not yet heard.

Also within our package it only includes flowers for the bride and was told for bridesmaid one long stem Lilly is $35, I have decided to buy silk/foam flowers with what i want and take them with us, plus this way we'll have a keepsake from our wedding day and put them on top table or something.

We are undecided what to do re sound system for reception for $500 or whether to take our ipod speaker and have a steel band for an hour or so, we only have the Blue Lagoon area for 4 hours from 6-10 anyway, after that we'll probably move on to the bar above and mix with the other guests.

I look foward to hearing from fellow LH 2013 Brides!!! Congrats!!!!

Nic xx

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
