2013 Paradisus Palma Real

Recommended Posts

Hi Congrats on your up coming wedding! We have just seriously considered PPR for our wedding and really am super excited! Just have a quick question about your save the dates your sending. We wanted to know ahead of time how many people would def be going so we can better pick which package we may NEED. How do you ask people "in a nice way" to please reply if interested so we may better accomodate? Is this what you are doing? or are you just sending the save the dates...then invitation later and wait for rsvp from that?

Thanks so much :)

Nicole

Hi Nicole- congrats and welcome to the thread party! Lol I have heard nothing but great things from people who have already been to PPR, my travel agent, and in online reviews. It's why we chose it for our location. Your question is a good one- we sent STD and people started to call and say they were coming etc. I'm peeved about my invites because they should have gone out a long time ago and they aren't even finished. I ordered them in October. We wanted them out before the holidays. Honestly- if you send save the dates, people will end up calling or emailing for more details. With our save the date magnets, we sent a homemade business card (bought blanks from Staples and printed at home). On one side we put our travel agents info and on the other side our wedding website. We made the website for free with the Knot and it has an RSVP feature. On the business card we gently suggested people visit the website and RSVP. We got a small response. We knew a certain amount of invites would be definites. So we counted them and determined our package that way. We agreed we could afford a round number of 50 guests and you get 24 with the package. Right now we have 35 guests. Honestly I think if you can have your invites sent out earlier you may not need stds. My stds were from Wedding Paper Divas and were inexpensive, so it wasn't a big deal. My invitations also didn't cost an arm and a leg by typical standards, but I wanted them out 8 months before the wedding and at this rate they'll be out 6 months before which is ok for a regular wedding but not ok for a destination wedding in my opinion.

I am also having a wedding at the Paradisus in 2013. We get married March 9th 2013. I had a hard time choosing where we wanted to do the ceremony and reception. I ended up deciding the Garden Gazebo for the ceremony and the beach for the reception. Has anyone had the Garden Gazebo for there ceremony or seen it? We have about 40 people going and I want to make sure they will all fit.

Mandaleigh! I'm also having my reception on the beach. Glad to finally come across someone who is as well. Most people go with Olympus Terrace which I really wanted but it was booked. I have seen some nice pics I beach receptions and I was planning on having the LED dance floor at Olympus anyway. The Garden gazebo is small. For a group your size- they will probably place the seats around the gazebo so your guests can see. I think the gazebo is only big enough to hold the couple and the officiant. Missybee- we will be at PPR for a week. Our wedding is in July- we are waiting until December to honeymoon- a delayed honeymoon if you will...or I guess at that point it's just a trip haha. We are going to purchase a vacation package from Living Social. Hopefully Thailand! They have some great deals there but you have to purchase closer to the date.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
