We sent save the dates out 12 months before and we have a website setup..... My fiancé didn't request much but really wanted the MIB invites so we are working on them! I know they are just really a keepsake at this point lol!

What is MIB?

We sent out an email telling everyone about our plans about 9 months before the wedding, then we sent our STDs about 7 months before the wedding, We sent out our invitations 3 months before the wedding, with rsvps due 2 months before the wedding... The rsvp cards have been coming in every day-- so exciting!

Hi Ladies

Needed some advice please. I received confirmation yesterday about our December 8 wedding. I got excited because it felt like wow this was actually going to happen and then I called my future MIL, who as usual completely killed my buzz lol. Shes difficult to work with lol.

I then contacted my TA who sent me an email this morning saying she wants info on all the guests that are def coming. I was planning to save electronic save the dates this weekend ( Thank You! EVKnowsitall for the amazing website! It super cute!) and then I was going to order invites,  Now im thinking if it makes sense to just send out electronic invitations instead. I would really appreciate advice from ladies who have had this debate!

Are electronic invitations really tacky? If I did invitations I would only do them for friends and a few family friends. My family has told me not to get them invitations bc it would be a waste of money.

Thank you!

That's the issue I had. Right away the TA needed info and I didn't have a read on who was coming. Even still my RSVP date was February 16th and I've only received a handful Of response cards back- and they are stamped- all they have to do is write a check mark and slip it in the mailbox for crying out loud. Lol. I would just go with the electronic save the dates and just send invites to the handful of people. You can get a kit and make them at michaels if its just a few. I don't regret our invites completely- but we definitely could have saved on them- we did passports and everyone raved about them. What I think we should have done was skip the stds and send the invites sooner. We just werent prepared for that kind of timeline. With our stds we sent the TA's business card with a link to our website on one side. We made them using business card template we bought at staples. I used to think electronic stds were tacky but in a DW- the rules of typical wedding etiquette just don't apply. And no one will call you tacky. Everyone will forget everything else once they are on vacation haha. We spent too much on our invites- I could have saved that money if I had just made them myself. That would be my suggestion.

Has anyone been able to meet the new DJ company or attended a party that they worked? It's been my only real concern since this whole DJ change-up.

Hi ladies,

I'm on the same boat as Marysabel... My planning call is setup for March 28 (insert huge excitement because it's finally something other than emails and is starting to feel real!!!)... Any suggestions/advice on the planning call would be great! And I'm also a little concerned with the whole DJ change up... I'm hoping to get some further info during my planning call... Has anyone here been able to contact the new DJ company? I was actually excited about DJ Mannia b/c I had heard such great things (that was the one thing I wasn't worried about)...

**PS I don't usually post because I'm very swamped with working fulltime and going to graduate school fulltime but you ladies have been a huge help!!! THANKS!!!

xoxo Darlene

Hey there

The planning call wasnt as informative as I thought it would be... I had previously sent Lara from carribbean celebrations centerpiece and flower ideas. It was more just reconfirming locations of the ceremony and reception. I actually requested to extend the reception an hour longer because with the aqua package its only 3 hours which I feel is kinda short. It seems like a few weeks they will put you in contact with the onsite planner to hash out more details. That pricing list and the worksheet they sent pretty much sums it up. Also, if you havent been in contact with Daniela from the spa they will give you that info. Hope this helps!

Hey Ladies! I had my planning call last month. Bianca basically started from the pre-wedding options to the reception we had discussed and we went through and finalized everything pretty much line by line down to the napkin rings. I thought she was great but I had been in pretty constant communication with her, Lara and Daniella before the call so it was mostly finalizing the choices I had asked about. I would suggest asking any questions you may have before the call so the call can be just finalizing details... it was a huge relief to know a bulk of the planning is done! :) Only 85 more days to go! Yay! Happy planning! Leslie

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
