They should be able to accommodate your welcome party although I have to be honest- that is a large number of people. The issue is probably that they would have to close the restaurant to the public during that time period. When you spoke with them did you tell them how large your group was? I agree, I would not pay for a welcome dinner. At first we thought about doing the Tailor made package but we thought some of the components were a waste.  My thoughts were to use Bana for a rehearsal dinner since it has the hibachi tables and you can fit the most people. For your group they should be able to accommodate in Bana- thats what I have heard other brides say.  We aren't doing a welcome dinner. We will have a "thank you brunch" the day after the wedding in the buffet and you cant stop a group from going to the buffet lol.  Email the Romance team and ask to speak directly to a manager. That's what I did to resolve my dilemma. Sometimes it takes a bit of a fight but they need to find a way to accommodate you if they said they could. Also- email them do not hold them to their word by something they said. You need written proof. Keep copies of every email- that's my advice going forward but I know it doesn't solve your current dilemma.  Which reviews are you reading? I have yet to see a bad review of the resort itself. The only negative reviews, and I think we can all attest to this, are from working with the Romance department itself. I sometimes question my decision but we are so far along we have no choice. I am just hoping it will all work out. Enough brides have gone and said many good things so I'm sure this is just routine hiccups that happen no matter what resort you plan your wedding in.
Hi Ev, I have been reading the forums regarding the Miami office. I read one about a bride who got married at PPC and worked with the romance office in Miami. She went thriugh some stuff and her guests did as well. But she shared that everything worked out in the end. My concern is that people will not enjoy themselves or they will regret going.

Tha is f

After reading these past posts about making a dinner reservation for the group, I looked through emails because I was planning on doing the same thing. Jessica my romance planner said reservations can be made at earliest ten days in advance so maybe when it's closer they will be more accommodating? That's what I'm hoping for. I feel as though its a lil ridiculous to have to take pay for a dinner when the resort is all inclusive. I am hoping with our group being 40 people to just dominat an area at the hotel haha. Also, just a lil advice that I was given to pass along to you because I'm trying to follow! The day and vacation is going to be wonderful because we all will be with our friends and family and everyone will be on vacation. My friend just came back from a wedding there and she said her favorite part of the whole trip was just hanging out with everyone and listening and dancing to their own music they brought. So that just makes me happy and hope have that same mind sight![/quote Thanks for the advice.

Hey ladies,

I have been reading the posts...sorry you guys are having all those issues!  Persistence definitely pays as well as keeping all emails!  Erica I am definitely trying to have the same mind frame!  Every bride's review has always been wonderful! Of course there are glitches but that is part of the whole process especially with a destination wedding!  I am glad to hear your friend's experience. We stayed here about two years ago and everything was amazing!  Best vacation we ever had, so that is why we chose to have our wedding here.  The rehearsal dinner I believe is booked once you get there and is for up to 15 guests, after that there is a charge per person....  The restaurants are large and I agree it seems silly to have to pay since it is an all inclusive but I guess with large groups it is tough!  I think we are going to try and arrange a welcome get together but informal, in our welcome bag maybe we will put a place and time to meet up!

Still working on my MIB invites! OMG wish I never took on this project it is never ending.... question how far in advance did you send invites, and request RSVP?

Thanks

Hey Kel- We sent our Save the Dates 11 months before and our invites 6 months before. The invites were almost useless though. They gave off the wow factor and got everyone excited but by that point, most people had already booked and they were more of just a decoration. In hindsight, I would recommend setting up a website or electronic Save The Dates- saving the money and sending invites 8 months before or something like that. We sent our save the dates and people wanted too book immediately so they wanted more details- at that point I realized it would have been best just to quickly send out the invites with the more detailed information.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
