Iberostar Laguna Azul brides 2013

One point that I think should be made is for those of you getting married in 2013, don't get stressed out if the resort does not email you back right away. This is very common and they will never leave anything too late, that certain things get missed. The closer the wedding the more responses you will get. I received an email saying they received my email and gave me a date and time back in March. I have been emailing them since March with little details/questions I had and they just finally got back to me last week.

Couple other things to note, they will require you to photocopy and send by email (all individual emails as their system can only handle up to 1MB per email) a copy of the birth certificate and passport of each the bride and groom, as well as a copy of the passports for 2 witnesses that can sign at the ceremony for you (non relatives). They will also email you 3 or 4 attachements that will need to be filled out and emailed back as well. One is Mandatory Info and has all the info of the bride, groom, their parents and witnesses. Just fill it out by pen and scan and email it back, a general questionairre with questions regarding the dinner, flowers etc, all little things pertaining to the wedding. I will check if I still have these attachments and post them on here as well. Just to have. They may vary by resort but these are the ones they use at ILA. Hope this helps, I will post more info and pictures when I return as a married lady haha, end of Aug, 2012. So Excited!!!

Yes, the one thing I have learned is don't always go by all the reviews. First off some people are never happy, going to Cuba I am def going in with an open mind. I guess its just common sense for the most part. If its repetetive bad review then maybe something to consider. I know how nervous it can make a bride-to-be choosing a resort. I am at the point of no return haha. This resort (ILA) is booked and my wedding is all booked with all guests confirmed (58) and ready to go. I also noticed when brides have returned there isnt much feedback. I promise promise promise I will take notes for you guys, let you know about the good, the bad and the in betweens of everything I can. There was a post on here somewhere from a travel agent herself who got married at this resort and left very handy tips and absolutely loved this place. I am hoping for the same. One last thing to remember we arent there for your typical vacation, I believe the resort will go above and beyond for a wedding and make it as memorable as possible. Not that they shouldnt treat all guests this way but they dont.... Good luck ladies, and wish me luck haha 35 days and counting til I leave, 38 til I become married, YAY! All we can do is make the best of it, really, it is what you make it. Nothing can ruin this day for me, absolutely nothing, besides I have my best friend at my side, what more do I need haha.....

Hey Kay.

I'm also looking to get married end of Jan 2014 at the ILA. If you don't mind me asking.....how much did it cost p/p? Would be great to get a general idea. Thanks in advance :) I can't wait to hear about your trip this year!

Take care,

Hey! We are not getting our group rate until we return from our vacation this year... But I've been told to expect $800-$1,000/pp for the group rate. I will post everything I find out from this trip for sure :) it would be awesome to actually meet a ILA bride down in Cuba if our travel dates end up over lapping:) talk soon Kay xo

Thanks for getting back to me Kay!! That is an awesome group rate! Fingers crossed you can secure it at that price. I can't wait to hear all about your trip. That would be neat if we were down there at the same time

Have lots of fun and travel safe

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
