BARCELO MAYA TROPICAL 2012 BRIDES?

Recommended Posts

Hello fellow brides!

I'm looking for topics for specifically the Barcelo Maya Tropical - are you getting married there... or have you recently?

I see a lot for Barcelo Maya Palace -- but not a lot of recent posts for Tropical - but i may be mistaken, help!

I'm looking at doing my wedding there Nov 2012 - but haven't booked yet as I'm not certain it's the resort for me!

Hello!

I am a Palace bride as I wanted the Gazebo for our reception but our guests are all staying at the Tropical.

I would still definitely check out the Barcelo Palace forums because the packages are the same no matter which resort you are staying at...Coconut, Blueberry, Mint, strawberry, tangerine, chocolate. It also seems not all of the brides are Palace brides and I've noticed that typically the info that they share applies to all weddings at the Barcelo Maya complex.

Our wedding is Nov 28th, 2012 and we have a bunch of planning completed already so feel free to ask questions!

Good luck and happy planning!!!

All the packages are the same no matter which hotel you stay at. It really just depends on the package you pick as to where you can get Married and have your reception! Really the only difference is if you choose to do something at the palace (ex: have your ceremony at the gazebo you may have to end up paying a little extra per person (IF YOU DON"T STAY THERE), I think I read that on the unofficial Barcelo Maya Forum website THIS SITE HAS LOTS OF GOOD INFO TOO!!)  But when it comes down to it there really is NO difference, other than what you want to pay for your room and the amenities that come with each resort. Some of the beaches that the Palace brides get married at and or have their reception at is actually at the Tropical or Beach resorts....The complex itself is HUGE, BEAUTIFUL, and in a nutshell perfect. Most of the pictures you probably see are in fact at the Tropical or Beach areas....With it getting so close to November you may not get a huge selection as to your choices of reception area...They may end up putting your reception at the palace no matter what. I started planning in December for my 10-6-12 wedding and there was ONLY 2 choices as to where I could get married.  Good luck and happy planning I hope this helps you a little.

I know it's not specific to the Tropical, but as mentioned above, the details of the wedding planning and packages is all the same for the Barcelo resorts, whether it be the Palace or Tropical/Colonial. I would suggest you check out the large Barcelo Palace thread on here, it has SOOOOO much valuable information!

Happy planning

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
