Hi Mary,

We have done a blog post on getting married in Mexico (since we got married here) and another blog post on the pricing and hidden costs of getting married on the Riviera Maya.

We prefer smaller resorts, but that's not for everyone. A lot depends on your budget and how many people you expect and whether you want them all at the same resort.

Good luck with your planning,

Michael

Hey,

No, no contact with the Hotel so far other than an email stating that the planning process will start 9 months before we arrive...so if its september they'll prob contact you in the new year.

I wouldn't worry about it too much though. Some people -believe it or not- arrive in mexico and arrange everything when they get their.

I work for Thomson in the UK and have booked with Hayes and Jarvis (Flying with Thomson from Glasgow on 23rd Sept 13) All I know is that I'm getting married on 27th (Friday)

Im not too fussed about arranging too much before I go - Ive chosen the Complimentry Wedding and will be adding on Horse & Carriage and Photography but thats about it as the whole point of us going abroad is to keep costs down cheesy.gif

I'm so excited its nearly 1 year away :)

Any more questions please ask  x x x

Hi All --

I am a Moon Palace April 2013 bride. Have been stalking the 2012 forum for information over the last few months, but have found Palace has changed some things up for 2013 weddings. I was previously working with Geraldine and am now assigned to Ricardo, who has been much more prompt with his responses. We are expecting roughly 125-145 for our wedding with most guests staying a week. We will have a Catholic ceremony, followed by a cocktail hour and then our reception in one of the ballrooms (hopefully Star in the Sunrise section). Looking forward to sharing information, particularly about pricing for cake, flowers, etc...

Happy planning everyone!

Hi everyone,

I'm getting married April 2013. I have spoken with my wedding coordinator Angelica and she told me that with the new Colin Cowie Collections, you are unable to make changes to the decorations. For instance the only option that wiill go with the colors for my wedding would be the Pearl ($3500) or Pure ($4500), so I wanted to go with the Complimentary package and add little details to the ceremony and reception such as sashes or ribbons on the chairs etc. I was told this cannot be done. Has anyone else run into this same problem?

Hi There,

I too did not like all the details of the Colin Cowie collection and the price was outrageous. I decided to opt for the complimentary decor and then add what I wanted using the resort approved Decor Cancun. They have been amazing and I am getting exactly what I wanted for a great price. If you have a vision of what you want it may be easier to just tweak the complimentary decor using this company.

Ask your coordinator for a contact if you are interested.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
